Gov. Polesmoker and his Libtard Dem. minions in control of our government now is one of the worst if not the worst things to happen to Colorado that I can remember in my lifetime living here.
They are writing laws in the night when the Capitol is closed due to weather and pushing their shit through and are not letting any grass grow beneath their feet as they push their agenda at warp speed.
I don't know how many of them were born and raised here but think that number is very few. It is mostly Assholes that have moved here from all over for the wide open spaces and freedom we enjoyed before but brought their Libtard ways with them and now want to make my Homeland just like the places they moved from and are doing it as fast as they can.
They have destroyed or are destroying what they moved here for.
We have had a huge influx of people move here in the past decade, + or - or thereabouts and most are good people and here for Life, Liberty and the good Lifestyle we have enjoyed for years and they are welcome additions into out communities, however, it is the Assholes that are now in power and those like them that are FUCKING this State up.
The whole State is now controlled by the Front Range Cities and Ski Areas that are really a small area as to the totality of the area of the State, much like New York State being controlled by NYC or all of Illinois being controlled by Shitcago.
It is a GIANT Cluster Fuck or Circle Jerk or Lash Up or whatever you want to call it but it just ain't right and not indicative of how the rural parts of the State feel and believe.
I know I won't win but I will fight till my death to preserve what Colorado is really about and know that we rural people are fighting a loosing battle and are outnumbered.
To all of you newcomers that are here for the right reasons, Welcome, the rest I wish they would just go back to where they came from.
I do think we even have a convicted Felon in the House or Senate, and how is that a good thing? but she is pushing all of this shit along too. I may be wrong on that but don't think so.

I feel we're in an untenable relationship and need to divide the goddamn country while we still have some things in common. Maybe into 50 separate countries and just get rid of DC and all that bullshit at once.

Colorado baffles me. While I understand New York is run by NYC, purely because of the sheer number of people crammed into that cesspool, Does Denver and Vail have that many liberals that they can outnumber the whole state? I always thought Colorado was one of those beautiful western states (I've never been, but until recently always wanted to visit) where gun rights were as much ingrained in the culture as they are here in Kentucky. Now, it seems the liberals and potheads have just taken over. Texas as well. Makes me fear for my own state, which is almost always run by Democrats on a local and state level, but sends Republicans to DC.
It goes to show just how fragile and potentially unstable any political and social situation can be.
The biggest problem in the gun rights world? DENIAL. Since the earliest days of the Internet gun boards, members have been repeating things like: "This is Texas. Gun capital. It can't happen here". Well, who would have thought that a psychotic failed art student can ever hijack a country known for it's cultural, literary, technological, and musical achievements and used it's resources to commit some of the most appalling atrocities in human history?
Bottom line is: There is no such thing as anything being permanent. If something is to last, it needs to be constantly replenished and rebuilt. And of course, there is no such thing as: "It can't happen here". Such thinking is akin to hiding under a flipped-over wooden table during a gunfight and hoping that it will stop bullets.
Legalized pot has definitely effected this. As an employer I have sat at my desk and had many job interviews. Twenty something year old men from out of state move all the way across the country without any life skills because “My friend said Colorado was a great place to live”. My very next question... “Can you pass a drug test?” Then on to the next interview with the same results.
The demographics in the little town where my business is has completely flipped from working people and families walking the streets to jobless, homeless potheads and pan handlers.

Lots of unintended consequences came with decriminalizing marijuana. "Homelessness" is rampant, when in reality they're homeless and unemployed by choice. We saw a huge influx of people from other states. And we basically opened up our backyards to cartel grow operations.

I completely forgot about the tax money! A few years ago, shortly after decriminalization, the state had a huge surplus in tax revenue from marijuana. It was large enough to give every single person (not family or household, but PERSON) a refund of SEVERAL thousands of dollars. Of course, that never happened. The money just kinda disappeared and no one really reported on what happened to it. It was like the local press just stopped mentioning the surplus one day.

They sold their shoebox apartments in California for a million bucks, moved to Colorado, and priced the locals out of the market. Those same Californians fled the consequences of their liberal voting practices. They saw the squalor that resulted from their liberal policies and fled!! But they're too stupid to change, so they move to Colorado and vote the exact same way they did back in California. Now Colorado is becoming a second California and those same people couldn't be happier... until our transformation is complete and those people wonder what happened.

If you remember, a big part of the push to legalize it was tax money for education. They claim 35 million in tax revenue goes to education in Colorado from pot sales tax. They were talking on the radio a while back that that is all true. What they don’t talk about is how the 35 million in tax revenue goes to education, that also allowed them to pull 35 million out for pet projects. So while honest hard working folks in Colorado voted for legal pot thinking an additional revenue toward the schools would be a good thing, the politicians (ie: Hickenlooper) pulled a political move to fund his buddies and liberal pork.

In the 70s and 80s most of the transplants to Colorado seemed to be Texans. Imo things were still good then.

This is par for the course. ANY TIME 'they' claim more money for schools means that they will take the money for schools but other monies NOT 'promised' is moved to something else. Happens mostly with legal gambling these days.

Alaska just went through something like this but it actually came from state legislators in Juneau. The police hands were tied, they would arrest someone but criminals would not be held or charged. Car theft was up if my failing memory remembers 30% in one year. You stop to get gas someone would walk by your rig to see if the keys were in the ignition. Drug use on the street corners, having sex on the street corners, retails were powerless to stop theft. Anyway, the outcry from citizens finally became too much and last election was a hot topic to repeal bill 91. Good luck!

They are packed full of people that are not from here but have moved in and many of them are Trustfunders with more money than brains, never worked a day in their lives but through their numbers control things.
They occupy a small portion of the State area wise yet have the numbers to throw the votes and control where money is spent. We see little money spent in the rural areas but they have to come through the rural areas to get to the Big Giant Cesspool that is the Front Range and bitch about how bad our highways are as they go through.
There are many good people that have moved here and have the right mindset to be Good Citizens and I welcome them, but, there are a whole lot of Asshole Libtards too and they are now the ones in control and pushing their Libtard mindsets on us all. They have NO idea as to how the laws they write will affect others and don't care.

I own mountain property out there (inear Ouray) and decided about a month ago - not to develop it. Not happy with the direction of the state, I'll spend my money elsewhere.
