Has anyone heard from Chris here lately or ordered mags in the past say...couple weeks? My first time ordering one; I ordered it a week ago and paid with PP. Never got an invoice or shipping notification. Just wondering if that's normal and how long they take to ship? I called today and left a message and his site said they were in stock. Thanks

Recommend you dispute the charge with PP for services not rendered. A good friend of mine had to do it with his credit card company. I stay far away from alpha mags...there's a reason Triad won't carry them anymore.

If you want something like the type II alphas, get yourself the 300 WSM mags and bend the feed lips using the HS precision feed lip tool (it comes with a table for the proper dimensions).

I haven't played to much with the short action mags so I wasn't for sure the 300wsm would work for .308. You have and inside OAL for those mags? I need to be able to run around 2.950. And I'm thinking your talking AICS mags to buy?

You get them from Accurate Mag: Magazines - Accurate-Mag

These are what you get if you buy a mini-chassis from Manners Stocks. I think GAP uses them too. They are good quality.

The longest I have been able to load in them and get reliable feeding is 2.965." You essentially get another 0.1" over your traditional front spacer design. You will need to adjust the front and rear gaps on the feed lips using some type of tool (such as the one from HS Precision or something else that can do the trick).

The front / rear feed lip gap specs for WSM cartridges are: .485 / .490. You need to adjust them to .420 / .410 for the 308 case design.

Ok cool! Thanks for the info! I was just now researching those, last question I haven't found specific answer; will it work with my ptg M5 bottom metal? It appears these fit same application as AICS mags?

If your bottom uses AICS magazines, then Accurate Mags will work. Alpha mags are the same magazine pattern as AICS mags, so you should be all set. BTW, all the alpha mags that I, and a good friend of mine, have received have had issues (won't fit all 10 rounds or feed very unreliably).

Accurate-Mag also has .308 AICS magazine without the front plate in them so no feed lip tweaking is necessary. There is an option on the .308 mag page for them.

Awesome info! I'm disputing that charge tomorrow for sure and I'm going to pick up a couple realistic mags tonight. I wonder if the 3rd mag will fit 4 of the 308 cartridges in??
You will fit 5 308 cartridges in the 300 WSM magazine. The 300 WSM case is a lot fatter, which is why you can't fit as many.
