Doing the Run and Gun in the Sun near Pecos, Texas in August this year. It's going to be about seven miles of hiking with all your gear.
I've ordered one of Tony's TAB Biathlon slings to try, but I don't know yet how that will work with a normal Camelback style hydration carrier.

What have you guys found as far as waist-mounted, etc. carriers that are quality gear and carry well enough for a fairly rough hike?

Thanks!

Canteens and Nalgene bottles are an option. Their are carrier systems designed just for that.
I also have a Camelback for running which sits in the small of your back. Check out the Camelback website and you will find it. I believe it is 50 oz.

This probably isnt what you are looking for, but I like it for hikes in unfamiliar country. It has solar panels and has a water bladder pouch (holds up to a 3liter bag, but i recommend a 2 liter so it doesn't take up too much room inside the pack). Plenty of room. Material is made of recycled soda bottles, and is fairly sturdy on anything except rocks. Powers my iPhone with my GPS program as much as I want. Would be great for radios with a charger port.

Uses the MOLLE system on the pack in certain areas, good for attaching random stuff.

Probably isn't what you are looking for, but I thought I should throw it out there.
