Found the CQBSS and think for my AR this is the kind of scope I want.
1 or close to 1x at the low end
Ffp
Mil reticle usable for hold overs at max power
Some kind of donut or red dot at 1x
Anybody have any recommendations that don't cost quite as much? Really like the Hours they have in the CQBSS not sure what it is, H37 or H25?

How about the MINOX ZP 8 Rifle Scope 1-8x24 MR10+? MAP is $2,999, call us for hide pricing. https://www.cstactical.com/minox-zp8...w-mr10-reticle

The ZP8 1-8x24 is perfect for an extremely wide range of applications - for fast shots at close quarters up to the precision shot at longer distances.

Product Features
'_ CCR reticle system: Unique combination of a daylight bright red dot in the second focal plane and a reticle in the first focal plane with automatic changeover depending on the selected magnification
'_ 8x zoom ratio: True 1x magnification for highest speed at close quarters and 8x maximum magnification for precision at long range
'_ 10 mrad single turn elevation turrets with zero stop, lockable in the zeroed position
'_ Lockable illumination dial prevents accidental adjustment

It's a Lil less than the leupold I think actually really like that reticle alot. All these scopes have fixed parallax or is the turret on the left parallax and brightness?

I kind of just went through this same process after I did a run and gun. I had a 3-15x50 XTRii on a 6.5 grendel. The grendel isn't the best caliber for these events, but it was too much scope. Primary arms has their platinum (ffp illuminated) 1-8x with a standard mil based reticle. It has 0-10mil hash marks, a center 2mil horseshoe and an outer 20mil? horseshoe as well. $1300 or so retail, but they also have some blems on ebay that are $1k. I bought an ebay blem and haven't mounted it or shot it yet, but it's nice, the blemishes are hard to spot as they are on the very edge of the field of view. The biggest drawback, I haven't shot with it yet, is that it isn't 'that' much lighter than the 3-15x50. Probably only 4-6 ounces.

This has every feature you are looking for minus the Horus reticle. These are made by LOW in Japan, and quite frankly, they stack up very well to just about any 1-8 out there. They sell around $1000.

And they are currently running a $100 rebate on XTR's.

They are a fantastic option and the rebate is a bonus!

^^^that is the truth there^^^ You are paying for the use by the Military as they recoup the cost of the R&D for the scope. I have a Trijicon1-8 and it works great. Others listed above will work quite well for a lot less cost than the CQBSS.

I'm sorry... NO!

Kinda reminds me of the old TV commercial: "It's just like a Mercedes..." While the aforementioned $1,000 - $1,500 LPVs may be perfectly adequate for a given purpose they're just not in the same league as the CQBSS. Glass, tracking, quality, reliability... they're just not.
