hey yall can anyone recommend a good drop in ambidextrous safety for a 1911 type(norinco) .45 auto. are there any great value superior ones or ones that are horrible to stay clear of? thanks and sorry if this is a common question i couldnt find it.

Good and drop in dont go together when talking 1911's. From my small dealings with 1911's I have found that most stuff really needs to be fitted, unless its grips.

There is no such thing. All thumb safeties for 1911 need fitting, ambi or otherwise.
Since this is a critical piece that determines weather the pistol will fire accidentally, it really should be installed by a gunsmith.

the WIlson and Ed Brown Tactical (thinner paddles) are the ones I use. they all need to be fit....also I find that they also need to have the sharp edges smoothed out...
