War is Hell. It's supposed to be...
It has to be, or we would be far too quick to wage it, as indeed we have been. In recent decades, it's not been hell, which is why we have been embroiled in it ever since Korea, and why so many have died for absolutely no positive outcome.
The thought that leaders can simply say, "So let's you and them kill each other", then simply turn the page and pick out a lunch date is supremely obscene.
But they do it anyway, we let them get away with it, and this has become somehow weirdly acceptable. It isn't and leaders who engage in this behavior need to pay a steep price for blithely carrying on with this sort of official conduct.
...In the best of all possible worlds...
