LAST CHANCE: This Target Haunts Me Contest
Tell us about the one that got away, the flier that ruined your group, the zero that drifted, the shot you still see when you close your eyes. Winner will receive a free scope!
I am looking to purchase an Annie. What could setup so you recommend? Water cooled setup versus the ferrite coil setup. Why one way versus the other? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Pictures of setup would be awesome.
Unless you’re going to be doing hundreds day in and day out the ferrite alone should be adequate. I’ve gone through 300 cases outside on a Texas summer afternoon and it didn’t over heat.
Spife is a good guy, knows his shit and gives good advice.
I, on the other hand, went water cooled. I'm a bit of a gear hear. Made Delrin (?) holders for .223, 6 x 47L and .308W. The process is really quick, works well. I have no doubt that going air cooled as Spife suggest will work just fine for you.
BTW, if you have any problems, don't hesitate to contact Garrett. He's a standup guy !
I would not purchase an Annie if it was the last annealing machine ever made. I had mine for one month. First off it was two months after it was promised. In total 7 months to get from date I ordered. Not unusual in the gun world. I let it go. I told them what cases I used. I was sent the whatever the c shape piece is call that would only do .223. Ok no big deal thing get messed up. Told him .338. Next one was not big enough. Once again had to send another. Then it completely quit working. After 20 or so cases. After doing a little questioning on accurate shooter I got several PMs from people saying just send it back they had problems also and what a mess the company is. When I purchased mine it seemed like a company that could not get there shit together.
I am sure people have had great luck and if you like yours great. I’m not bashing you for liking it. Just trying to tell my experience. For the money I would save and buy an AMP.
