This is as good a time as any I guess.

We are growing like a weed! You guys are awesome and it shows with the ever growing pile of gun cases now neatly stacked in here. Sam's club is going to have a good year with all the dern rack units I'm having to buy!

As a result the volume has grown to a point of no return. I had to hire someone. I've been quietly interviewing people and settled on one here recently.

Garrett Caldwell is a former employee from the Nesika Days. If you had a gun built by them (us) from 2003-2007 chances are good he barreled it. He's sharp, detail oriented as they come, and a good hand. He'll be here by the opening bell next week and ready to kick some arse.

Some of Garrett's qualifications:

*Graduate, Colorado School of Trades Gunsmithing program
*Gunmaker, Nesika Bay Precision

Small list of accomplishments:

*Scimitar Development Project for the Jordanian Special Ops Command
*Scimitar Presentation rifle for President George W. Bush
*Scimitar Presentation rifle for Vice President Richard Cheney
*Barreling Dept Gunsmith, Dakota Arms/Nesika Bay Precision
*Dakota Predator action development
*Fluent in CNC manufacturing equipment use

Kalli and I are very fortunate to have him on board and this will only results in shorter lead/delivery times for you guys while maintaining the level of quality and service we strive to deliver.

If you needing something done, give us a call and lets work him like a dog!

Thanks

C.

Glad to hear it, Chad. Congrats to you and Kalli on the "new addition" to the business which I am sure will be a real asset!

God bless and keep up the fine work!!

Re: Announcement: WE ARE GROWING!

I have no doubts that it did. I have seen your brakes before and they do look perty darn nice. So nice you can't even tell it's threaded on and threads as smooth as butter. Should turn that .300 into a kitty cat a 5 year old could shoot.

Re: Announcement: WE ARE GROWING!

Off topic, but...

I was just looking at your webpage, Chad. That is one of the nicest and cleanest out there. Easy to navigate and very professional.

Lends an air of class to your crusty self.:)

Re: Announcement: WE ARE GROWING!

Thanks! I'll be updating it again here pretty soon.

Garrett is bringing his inventory of reamers along too so there will be quite a few more (around 25) to add to the list.

I'm sending in a revision to the web guy tonight as well cause I haven't kept up with it lately.

More to come germs!

Good job Chad. Nice to hear of expansion and improvements, especially during this time of 'nothing but the negative' in the (bs) media.

Others can only dream of a shop like that.

Chad,

It was great to come down and check out the new shop. Glad you found some help and hope you continue to get more business.

Re: Announcement: WE ARE GROWING!

It's in the process of being updated on the "services" page of the shop's site.

In addition, Mr. Caldwell is bringing along his tooling inventory as well so we'll have ourselves a nice little pile of tools to pick from for future projects.

Check the list as its constantly evolving.

Re: Announcement: WE ARE GROWING!

Great site, amazing work quality. Does a person call for a quote? I can't find prices on the site.

I did see you say (different thread) that it was 2 bills for a re-barrel.

Action true/blue-print
Stock bedding
Re-barrel

Thanks.

Re: Announcement: WE ARE GROWING!

I don't post rates on the site.

I much prefer to start a build with a conversation rather than someone filtering through a menu of prices to determine whether or not they want my shop to do the work.

We are not the cheapest. We are not the most expensive. Our rates are common to what other marquee/high end shops charge. If your looking for a cheap/quick job then LongRifles, Inc. is probably not the best choice. We've gotten popular and the volume has increased as a result. I won't hire monkeys who just slap stuff together so as I find the right people we'll continue to grow.

You can PM me but the best way to get a quote going is to either call or shoot an email. I generate all the estimates with QB and this requires and email address. The quotes are pretty rock solid. I don't sneak attack clients with overages or hidden fees and BS later. It's all up front and eye to eye. Our deposit policy is to take a deposit for the cost of parts only. We like working for our paychecks. Balance is due upon completion.

Again, the best way to get this rolling is to call us. I'll spend whatever time it takes to get everything right from the git go. Often a guy knows what he thinks he wants, but later finds it doesn't suit his needs. I try to aid in that without cramming down your throat what I think a great gun should look like.

Be glad to help!

Re: Announcement: WE ARE GROWING!

Well he made it! 1400+ miles later he's here and we didn't waste any time. Barreled up a 308 and I showed him the blueprint process for the Rem receivers.

Blown away as to well it worked. Fell in love with the shop layout. Were hitting it hard again tomorrow.

Up n up from here out. No more missed emails/phone calls etc.

Thanks for everyones support.

Re: Announcement: WE ARE GROWING!

I might have to make a run over this week an meet Garret (and pick up my bolts since they should be done by now
wink.gif
). Sounds like he is fitting in pretty good so far and will be a great addition for the shop.

Re: Announcement: WE ARE GROWING!

Finished up his "first" barreled action tonight.

Can't tell the difference between the work. First rate hand all the way.

I'm lucky to have him.

C'mon by buddy. Will be out tomorrow as it's Tailor's B day and she's hell bent on going to the State Fair.

Rest of the week is solid though!

Later,

C.
