Hello Gentleman i needsome advice. for the last two years ive only shot a contender pistol/single action ruger. i own 223 CZ and reintraduced to the fun of squirls at 100+. I want to get another bolt gun before the kids hit day care.

I was looking at the ruger gunsite but wanted a traditional scope. then i looked at the savage 10pc and wound up on your site. gun would be gen purpose. deer/pig/ and our 200 yard range. for the 800 price tag of the Ruger gun site it seems like i can get more gun with a savage or a remington sps or aac and have option for future upgrades. i love your builds but i think weight would be an issue at some point with hunting. (3-6times a year)

Any advice i should consider while i continue by research would be welcomed. plan is to pratice with the 223till then

My opinion would be, the sps tactical will serve you as an all purpose gun. It's the shooter adding all the silly add on's that make's them little piggy's;) . My rifle started as a 8.8lb gun and just put it on the scale last night and is exactly 20lbs now.

I would recomend this: Rem 700 7mm RM w/ leupold $650

Oh and if you couldn't tell that's a great deal, just the action and scope are worth what he's asking.

I have almost the same thing but in a Win Model 70 and as long as you shoot standing or sitting and not prone the light rifle is fine for the recoil of the 7mm, prone not so much.

7mmRM can take anything on this continent and you can find factory ammo everywhere if you don't handload yet.

If you feel the 7mmRM is too much then I'd recommend something in a .308, probably a remmy 700 aswell.

yes i know how to google. if built a ar15 off of google ar15.com i wanted to see if i was missing something after 10 hours of research in the last week. Just read over on scoutrifle.org some guy bedded his rifle and got sub.5 so know its got me thinking about that. to much $ involved in long range hunting/shooting i think my budget can afford 1-300 1-600 was curious how the ruger fit into that as a contender. how ever i am at the range once a week. looked at the savage the accutriger was nice but the rem 700 bolt was o so smooth.
