It does not look like another product to me, but it looks like a neat machine with a stop for adjustable seating depth.Never fiddled with fancy priming tools - whose does this one resemble?
IMO - No, it does not. The only feature different is the "revolving" primer feed system. The system still holds the cartridge case in a shell holder, which is susceptible to case rim thickness - lack of consistency. I had the Hornady Handheld Priming Tool that would only work with Hornady shell holders. I wonder if this one is the same.Cool. But, how is that better than the Lee auto prime?
As does the CPS. What bench primer doesn’t?The system still holds the cartridge case in a shell holder, which is susceptible to case rim thickness - lack of consistency.
Now I’m no Hornady defender….but what other bench primer are they ripping off?Appears Hornady is on a tare ripping everyone off.
Bullets tools what next?
The Lee, which seats by feel (which I prefer). As does the CPS. What bench primer doesn’t?
Ahhh the days when the ignore function still worked for real. That Primal Rights dude is gonna lose his shit....
It's the ACP that they discontinued. It's the one I use mostly these days. The only thing I had to do with it is make a little modification so that the primer seating depth is adjustable. It's really great for consistent seating since it doesn't use the case's rim, rims having variable rim thickness, to seat the primer. It produces the most consistency over any . . . ANY other priming tool on the market.I wish lee still made the app. Or was it acp? They discontinued one of them and that's the one I wanted. Only learned about them after the fact.
What'd I miss?Ahhh the days when the ignore function still worked for real.
Hornady powder next?
Are you telling me primers are not suppose to cost 125 per thousand and powder isn't 500 per 8lb jug?I believe they are after Sierra and Berger bullet companies at the moment.
If there isn't competition there won't be innovation, money allotted for r&d will be raided for executive bonuses and they will allow manufacturing to rot .
They will be stripped of every penny then the locusts will move on.
Do you people not remember the primer, powder and brass shortages? Instead of scaling production up all the companies fed the mic, took profits and let us rot. All of them.
They didn't put anything into building up for the future they just strip mined the profit and will run off like locusts to strip something else.
For the most part patenting a thing (object or process) will prevent infringement from Western companies, as they can be successfully sued and are concerned about reputational damage.patent something and be willing to pay to protect it
Hornady can only succeed in this strategy by producing an equivalent or superior product at a lower price—one that consumers perceive as better value. Are they trying to put a couple premium bullet makers out of business?
Steve Hornady is a grade A ass. He must have forced his tone deaf video past his marketing team when he essentially mocked his peon customers over that dire components shortage a few years back. He was making a killing via aging equipment and said there would be no investment in better capacity. Meanwhile companies such as Barnes reinvested the windfall into not only higher production but also improved QC. (I knew the machine OEM for Barnes)Hodgedon imports powders from all over the world that is their main issue. Import taxes, shipping etc.
Hornady started bullying and taking market share back when Buffalo bore became popular. Their are videos on you tube with the Buffalo bore owner with him saying Steve Hornady called him and told him he was going to produce big game bullets and African game rounds and buffalo bore had an agreement with linebough but Hornady didn’t care he just offered linebough more money and tried to put Buffalo bore out of business. Just like buying Chinese made goods the person who can make it cheaper usually wins.
I haven't tested Aeromatch bullets myself, but internet reports indicate they exhibit less consistency than Berger bullets, particularly in weight and ogive-to-base measurements.
That's extreme spread, not SD? Pretty darn good.So I did my own QC on lot #24573
Length 2.330 +.0030 -.0020
Bto 1.5900 + 0.0015 -0.0000
Weight 105.1 through 105.2
They seem to be able to make better knockoffs than original product. My brother gave me 100 of the 175 temu smk to try. Causes me great pain to say it, but I think hornady builds a better smk than Sierra. That's extreme spread, not SD? Pretty darn good.
Some people spend the majority of their time looking for somthing to cry about.
It's a priming tool. Ya, it's similar to other prining tools because it's a priming tool. There are only so many ways that make sense to arrange things.
I agree but saying so seemed to be the source of humor for a few in this thread.Mechanically its not really ripping anything off. What am I missing here...? I don't see any blatant rip-offs of an existing design.
They just cherrypicked existing ideas and did a mix-n-match product.
It isn't made of shit? From old Matchbox cars and model airplane parts? But, how is that better than the Lee auto prime?
They can build a better bullet than the knock off smk's.They seem to be able to make better knockoffs than original product. My brother gave me 100 of the 175 temu smk to try. Causes me great pain to say it, but I think hornady builds a better smk than Sierra.
...hopefully they can leverage their "Ingenuity" and deliver a $1,000 bulk dropper w/ trickler for $325 before Q2 2026.Appears Hornady is on a tare ripping everyone off.
Bullets tools what next?
How can you tell? That Primal Rights dude is gonna lose his shit....
I skimmed and skipped since I don’t have an hour atm. But he ends with “…go read some scripture…”who the heck is going to listen to this guy for 52minutes
...talking to himself in the car driving down the road?
anyone want to summarize the rant...![]()
