sorry guys i googled my ass off and read alot on parallax but i didnt find my answers. my question about parallax is this. in a fixed power scope such as the SS 10X42 HD. is there any need for parallax adjustment? or since its fixed it has no parallax issues? or does this particular scope actually have parallax adjusment? and if it infact does still have parallax issues then how bad would it be with only a 10x scope at say 800 yards and in?

and then my second parallax question is... on a variable power scope such as the nikon 1-4x20 m223. it has paallax set at 100 yards... does that mean at all other ranges parallax will become an issue if even to a small degree?

i appreciate any info

kenny

Re: Another Parallax question

Fixed or variable power, parallax can always be a problem. The SS 10x42HD has adjustable parallax, so don't worry about it. Just adjust it as necessary.

For your 1-4x Nikon or any other fixed parallax scope, while I'm not familiar with that specific scope, you may experience parallax at closer ranges, and may see it when you get way out there (500yds+) from the parallax adjusted range. But, so long as you're getting the same stock weld and no scope shadow you shouldn't have much if any parallax issues effecting your POI.

USMC Unertl scopes are a fixed parallax 10x scope, and obviously they shot just fine for three decades, but there was also a reason for the upgrade to modern technology too. You just need to know how to be repeatable on your stock weld and scope shadow.
