I was perusing a local auction company’s app and found an estate sale auction with lots of vintage/antique reloading and shooting gear. Also lots of ammo and guns that sold for probably 10x what the old feller paid for it. There is literally a Heritage Rough Rider .22lr Revolver that sold for $400. I’ve seen new models as low as $119 online in the past. A couple HiPoints sold for over $300 each.

I ended up buying a few lots of some old reloading gear and components I’m gonna use for display/decorating purposes in my reloading room; an old Redding scale, a bunch of old style metal powder tins of different manufacturers, powder funnels, etc.

I noticed this item, and at first I thought it might be an early powder trickler? Compared to other items of known dimensions, the corkscrew looks too big to me to be a powder trickler.
Maybe a shotgun shot dispenser?
Maybe not even related to reloading? Let me know if anyone has any ideas. I’ll post more pics when I pick it up on Thursday afternoon if no one has provided a positive ID by then.

Seems to obviously be a powder trickler or shot trickler, just like you suspect. Just as obviously, I don’t have any first hand knowledge to add for you.
That was my thinking but I’d never seen one like it. Hoping someone here can confirm and maybe give me an idea how old it might be (if that is indeed what it is).
