Rifle Scopes any experience with millet 10x50mm trs-2 scope?

i checked the millet website as i suspect the trs-2 may no longer be manufactured. when i went to click the buy it link a new window informed me the product is either removed or unavailable. i will call them tomorrow to get a definitive response as it will greatly influence if this scope is something i want to entertain anymore.

the lack of reviews within the last year also suggest it may have been pulled from the assembly lines.

encase i get a response this scope is still being made can anyone speak to any experience they have had with the scope? if someone has a link to a review or thread i would like to read it.

Millet scopes are garbage, as a general rule of thumb stay away from anything made in china when it comes to optics.

I had a TRS-1 years ago I couldn't zero. Tits up right out of the box. I sent it back for repair and ebayed it. Last year I won a TRS-2 mil/mil at a small match and put it on my new at the time LMT MWS for the hell of it. It didn't last 20 rounds before something inside let loose and the rifle started spraying. You could shake the scope and hear something loose. I didn't want to spend the money on shipping to and from bushnell to get the piece of crap fixed so I sold it for $50 with the warning that it was a POS and needed to go in for repair.

thank you for sharing your experience. i had read some terrible feedback for the trs-1 and was hoping much of the issues could have been attributed to the variable power. you are one of the few i have read about having an issue with a trs-2. this does not rest well with me. i will still make my phone call to millett to confirm or deny if they are still being produced.
ill update the thread later today for those that maybe interested.
i still would like to hear peoples experience with the fixed power version.

I had a fixed 10x power millet scope about a year ago on a savage .308. Worst scope I have ever owned. Wouldn't track at all and only got worse the more I shot the gun. I ended up throwing it in the garbage as I couldnt sell it to someone with a clear conscience

between the two first hand accounts this thread generated, the following information may make more sense. the trs-2 is no longer being manufactured. i heard it directly from millett, which appears to be fall under bushnell ownership?

I doubt they discontinued them because of problems because all millets have problems like all the other chinese scopes. They are low cost bargain bin scopes made as cheaply as possible for maximum profit. There's a reason they can replace them left and right and still make enough money to justify keeping them around.

Yes millet is owned by bushy now.

understood. thank you for sharing your knowledge on this subject.
it makes sense but the temptation to save lots of money was great. i was trying to better asses this risk. its been said, with great risk can come great reward but this gamble is not worth taking.

i am just about ready to completely abandon the prospect of a decent illuminated rehticle that lends it self to more precision than typical duplexs. having said that, do you know any options under say 400?

yes sir, the ss gets the node right now but would be nice to see an illuminated reticle on one of these well made fixed powers with a price under 450 or so.
