Anyone know of any competitions close to Central NY? I would like to go and check it out in person. Any help appreciated. Already tried to google it but not much comes up.

Thanks

The Community Conservation Club (AKA Odessa) events are Club matches (i.e. not NRA affiliated), which use a special target that is dimensionally the same as the F Class target, but sized for either 200yd or 250yd distances, whichever we may be shooting at the time. The targets use the older traditional 5pt/V scoring values, hence the FV200 and/or FV250 event designation.

No fee per se, we do ask a $10 donation, all proceeds go toward helping keep the club running. These matches are very informal, and also very friendly. 40 rounds for score, unlimited sighters, fired in two 20rd/30min stages. I bring 60 rounds, and fire my saved rounds into the sighter bulls after shooting my 40 for score.

Great bunch, most shooters are regulars. New shooters are very welcome and we are happy to provide whatever assistance we can to help get new guys up to speed. Schedules are normally first Saturday, then the Sunday two weeks after, open to public, registration at 10AM, usually done by around 1PM. Two classes, open and F T/R, per NRA definition; each has two categories, prone and bench (for us old feebs...). Brakes are allowed, and so far we have seen chamberings of up to .338LM. Shooters of all capabilities will find these events challenging and pleasurable. We are currently on Winter Hiatus, watch this forum for event announcements.

I try to make it out to most of these events, and have been narrowing in on chamberings that should be better suited for the shorter distances, like 222/223, and am working on developing 30BR and 7.62x39 rifles for this event as well.

Not personaly familiar with the Springwater shoots, but I understand they have a very similar atmosphere, and shoot at a distance of roughly 180yd.
