I damn near bought one a couple months ago. The look/feel solid. I was just hesitant at the time, and I kick myself in the ass for not jumping on it now...

Just got it this week. I put a Nightforce NXS 3.5 x 15 x50 hs zero stop. Took it out for the first time on Saturday and had less than 1 inch groups at 200yds. Shot it today and was able to mannage a 1/2 in group at 200yds. This is my first tactical rifle. So far I am very happy with it.

I put some rounds through one this morning. It shot well, I had a couple groups that were around 1/2" minus a called flyer on my part. It felt nicely put together. The trigger could have broken a touch cleaner and the bolt wasn't perfectly smooth but those are nitpicks. It definately has potential.
ETA: The trigger was still quite good and probably could be tuned up even better. My 700 just has a 2.5lb crisp trigger I'm use to. Also the bolt lift was very smooth it was the fore and aft travel that was slightly hitchy, as is common with Mauser type extractors. The accuracy was probably also effected by the optic which was lower powered than I am use to.

mtm87tx Kimber uses it's own reciever. It's there 8400 series. It's a pretty well built one. Control round feeding, Adj trigger, oversized bolt handle, oversized scope base screws(20 deg scope base factory installed), and a 3 position safety.

Watch your cleaning procedure and keep an eye on the Kimpro coating in the chamber (if they are still coating the chamber, that is).

You can build a Remy to very similar specs and come out cheaper with a rifle that will most likely shoot very well. Look around for my post and you will find my threads on this.
It all comes down to if given the opportunity would I buy another Kimber Advanced Tactical? The answer is No not unless it was dirt F-in cheap. It took a bit expensive trip to a decent smith to get mine shooting well but since that it shoots great.
I can see if my opinion was based off 1 rifle it might be suspect. But between my friend and I there are 3 of the KAT's and all 3 have the same issue I would say its pretty damn common.

Haven't shot a Advanced Tact. I have the 8400 Tactical .308 and the 8400 Police Tactical 300WM. Haven't shot the Police tact much at all. The 308 shoots very well. My best has been just under .75 group @ 100yd with a cheap scope till my Vortex PST shows up. Had the 84m LPT 308 for a while as well, shot like crazy best group with that one was .75 @ 200yd. Ended up selling that one to a buddy of mine that was begging me for that rifle. Any way great guns. Trying to figgure out how to get the 8400 Patrol rifle next.
