Rifle Scopes Any logic in having the same scope on multiple rifles?

I shoot my 22lr, 223 and a 308 the most. It seems like looking at the same reticle and sight picture would be a good idea from a training aspect. Does that make sense? With so many choices it’s hard to not want to try diferent models.

I did so years ago. I had 3 Rem 700 5R rifles in 223, 308 and 300WM, and all topped off with 3-15 NF NXS. Its very comfortable and you get good with those set ups. Conversely, you don't get to try new stuff that might be better for your taste. Its not a bad thing, but stuff improves so dont buy outdated glass to keep in the same game. YMMV

I have replaced the scopes on all of my "working rifles" with Bushnell AR Drop Zone BDC scopes, varying only according to an appropriate chambering spec. This includes three bolt guns, where they work equally well.

Six 223/5.56, two 308's, a pair of 6.5G's with 308 reticles, and a 260 with a 6.5CM reticle. Altogether, they all have aiming points for 100yd increments from 100yd to 500yd, with a means to use the reticle for 600yd as well. The reticles are so close identical that the difference simply does not occur to the shooter.

On KD range steel, I can ring the steel once each at 100, 200, and 300yd in a shooting sequence well under one minute, sometimes under a half minute without touching turrets, except for the side focus knob.

UKD, my LRF gives me a distance that can be used in conjunction with the reticle to get a decent firing solution in minimal time.

This puts a reasonable distance limit of around 600yd on my shooting. That's not so much of a sacrifice for my shooting activity, and the simplicity and speed of firing solutions appeals to me greatly.

For an older codger like myself, that's enough.

Well, I go with the philosophy of trickle down technology. I put the newest scope on my longest range rifle. Former scope moves down the line and trickles down eventually to the 22LR rifle.
I'm pretty much here. I'll get something new and the redistribute scopes to match the rifles I have. I even have some MIL and some MOA and have not had problems between them.

I still have one old school scope with Mil-Dot reticle with MOA turrets. Although it's just sitting in its box now. No idea what to do with it other than have it collect dust.

I put them on hunting rifles that I lend to people/kids I take hunting. They don't need to be adjusted for what I do with them, they just need to hold zero.
