Any luck with light and fast with 6/6.5 Creedmoor gas guns for varmints?

Guys, I’m toying with the idea of running some real light varmint bullets for night time coyotes. Not concerned with 700-1000yrd wind drift ballistics, just a smoking flat round for 150-500 yards with a little more ass than a 204 or 223. What are your experiences and real world velocities you’re seeing? I’ve got a 22” 6.5 now and planning on a 22” 6mm. Thanks, Dan

Yeah I read through the multiple 6 creed reloading threads and only a few posts made reference to the 87gr Vmax. Hornady has their factory varmint express load that would be a good starting point but I think a reloader should be able to push a little harder. I’m not concerned about barrel life because it’s a hunting rig.

Just as a point of reference, I am running 123g AMAX from a 23" JP barrel gas gun at 2900fps and thats pushing it pretty hard.

Ive never run anything lighter, but my guess is 3200+ fps shouldnt be impossible with something like an 87g. Maybe 3500fps.
