Not seeing squat here in northwest SD for several yrs. Shot 3 earlier but they are few and far between. Talked to a rancher yesterday who shot several real mangy ones last winter and found 15 or so dead this spring/summer in pastures and hay fields. He is about 30 miles south of where I usually hunt so guess it got there also. Was really bad around here starting in 2000. Not uncommon to see 12-15 on an early morning drive spanning 50 miles. Now I have driven 100+ with no yotes and not much for fresh tracks in new snow. Sure sucks for my winter recreation!

I've got 26 so far this season, but its been slow for 2 weeks now. I have not had much time to go callin but the last few times I did I got skunked... nothing, nada, didn't even see one! I got 33 total for last season, I was thinking that maybe this year would be even better yet because I had such high numbers this early but, I might have counted my <span style="text-decoration: line-through">chickens</span> coyotes too soon.

where are you longshot? we,re not having any luck here, talked to some buds around owensboro there not havin any luck either.

Nice poke for sure. Not much room for distance error when you get that far on a yote sized target is there?

I broke the half century mark last weekend. Was shooting for triple digits this year, but not gonna happen. Furs starting to rub here and I dont do much coyote work once the furs gone, unless I have a problem call from someone.

KDFWR says coyotes here have been affected by the deer die off a couple of years back...plenty of rabbits, though.

It snowed here three days ago and things picked up but, it didn't last long they've locked up since it has gotten down in the teens. I hope they get back to moving when it warms up and, they might get more hungry.

I shot one this morning at about 9:00 and a buddy of mine shot two at about 8:30. I manage a farm store and this old boy crossed the ag airstrip that is across the road from my store. I drove to the hanger and shot him at about 200yrds with my 22-250.

This has been a tough year in n.e. oregon. Have only taken a handful. Major parvo outbreak...finally found it's way into the domestic dog population. Bad deal.

I have taken just about a handful this year. I have been leaving my best places too hunt alone this year. I over hunted them a couple of years ago and they are taking there sweet time to come back.

The group of guys i hunt with got 3 last weekend. Two light coated and one darker fox looking one. I still need to get my first though.

What I wouldn't give not to have any coyotes on my property. Went from never seeing but maybe one every couple of years. To seeing them everywhere this year. My deer population is now almost non-existent. The hogs keep providing them with a steady food source so they aren't moving on. My property is heavily wooded, so sitting on open fields is really a now go. Biggest field I have is maybe one acre. Any advice on how to get rid of these bastards would be much appreciated.

I shot this one back in December Rem 7mag 150gr core lock 146 yrds...Quartering towards me... Neck entrance right rear exit was about the size of a quarter...

I have been hunting them here in CA, and haven't shot a single one this year. A few foxes, but no Coyotes. I am seeing plenty of tracks and scat though. I think more hunters are hunting/educating them in the areas where I hunt this year.

About a month ago I got one at 180 yards, the next day in same area one at 200 yards and within five more minutes one at 350 with an old 22-250 788.
Saw 4 behind my house hunting for field mice, they were working the field over which varied between 450-600 yards from my position, by the time I got the rifle (308 AR-10 Armalite 20" bbl)set up only one was visible and he had moved out to 700 yards, I moved down about 75 yards to about 625 from the coyote. Did hold over and missed the coyote but scared him enough to bug out.
I'm still seeing a bunch of coyote's in various areas. We have a lot of them in this area. I'm not hearing them as much as I used to at night (Could be because of our new great pyrenees livestock dog) but I am seeing a bunch at different times of the day. Most of the time I only see one out hunting but lately I have been seeing 4 together working the same feild within 2 1/2 miles of eath other. Can't determine if they are the same 4 or just a random grouping to where I just saw another 4 coyotes together.
I havn't been calling at all. Just driving to and fro from jobs and seeing them in some farms I have access to hunt.
Pull over grab the rifle and take a shot (outside of the truck)

We have done a good job of keeping them under control and have killed about 4 this year. A big female and some pups about a month ago, they killed about 20 lambs in 2 months. Got the last one on a a burnham brothers call #85.

Just got home from a three day coyote contest.We had 45+ mph winds friday night to sat morn and today for half the day.I felt like Sgt Dan on the shrimp boat friday night.I was afraid to climb out of my stand,as tree branches were falling all over the place.I did see the ass end of a coyote around 200yds away today and thats the only part of a dog I saw for three days.Friday AM was nice,but only saw fox and a couple of owls swooping for the mojo.I thought it was going to be easy money,as I had pics of four different dogs on trail cams around 2 bait piles a couple of days ag
ne dog had a bad case of mange,so it was a priority for that one to go,but Mother nature had different plans.Hopefully next weekend we'll have better weather and results.

I've got 5 so far this season been a busy year at work. My calling partner on the other hand lost track after 30, so hes doing all right. I've only seen one mangy coyote the rest have been nice furs! Haven't seen any fox while out calling? usually I run into at least a few every year. I did shoot a 25 pound badger that decided to see what was going on outside when we were calling. Hes currently getting mounted. Got this one on the drive to my buddies house with the 17 Remington

Me and my buds have had an average year at best, 24 for me not as good as last year but ok have 2 in the last 3 days though and havent hit a call, both were in pasture where alot of baby calves are droppin, one this morning was 425yds...felt good to get a couple yotes with my newest build a 6mm ai...
