Gunsmithing Anyone have one of these Wheeler Dovetail kits?

I guess they quit making them as they were only for small diameter barrels. I am looking for one to buy or rent if anyone has one.

Unless someone knows of a cutter I can put on a mill to cut a dovetail for a Rem 511 .22 front sight.

So you know the angle of the dovetail? 60, 65, 74, (something else) degree?

Then you just need a cuter of that angle that is smaller than the width of the sight.

The dovetails/sights are tapered though right? The sight can only slide in/out from right side.

Yes, the sights are tapered and are slid in/out from the side.

Depending on the angle of the sight, the corresponding angle dovetail cutter is used.

Brownell's used to sell dovetail mill cutters.

If not the right angle call them.
They are not made to plow through the whole thing.
Just finishing the tail. (Had to add that.)

I would rather punch numbers in than use files these days.
