Rifle Scopes Anyone have pics through a Night Force NXS F1?

Re: Anyone have pics through a Night Force NXS F1?

But, if someone took a picture through it, at say 500 yards at 15X scope zoom and 1X on the camera, it should give me a reasonable approximation of the size of the target, yes. I mainly need to see if 15X is enough mag for me. My eyesight isn't what it used to be.

I would love to have a FFP scope, but if I need more than 15X, then I need to be looking at S&B or USO. Or the Leopold ER/T line.

Magnitude of difference in price between them. So I need to save longer/more. I have almost infinite patience, but I would like to purchase sooner rather than later.

This post shows reticles at 20x and 5x and should give you an idea of what 15X would look like.

Keep in mind that mirage can become an issue on hot days when using high magnification. If mirage is bad enough then you'll have to dial down to 15X or 10X anyway.

Not very good pics, very low light conditions. 450 yards

A 10x with ultra clear glass will be better at long range than a 15x with mid grade glass.

The Nightforce 5.5-22 should suit your needs and you can find great deals on used ones.

Re: Anyone have pics through a Night Force NXS F1?

So, how mucha "donut" is there between the edge of the field of view and the outside edge of the scope as seen from the firing position?

Gotta get faster on this, but I just mentally calculated that if the window is about 24 inches (apparent, not the actual linear with might be angled away), the distance to target would be about 450 yards. There was something about 1.5 times 3 in there, but I'm tired and cant remember how I got it...
