Read the above and then add .............getting their fucking 4 screws out on top of the receiver. Sorry but that is just how i feel after all of them, not 1, but 4 just turn in circles and will not come out. I just about lost my mind and took it outside to beat it against a tree. What is up with this? I suggest they keep the 4 little pussy screws out of the receiver so that nobody else has to go through something like that wanting to put a pic rail on.

Went thru the same thing. I was able to get 3 out with the use of a hair dryer. Had to take it to a machine shop after I completely stripped the last one. I was completely pissed about it too. No sense in using small flat head screws and then gluing them in.

They're just plastic. use a punch and a hammer. don't bother with a screw driver. they aren't really threaded.

I was thinking he may just have the plastic pieces inside the holes since it was a lite model. Mine came with the rail and screws and was a complete PITA. The plugs are fairly easy to get out from what I understand.

These are plastic and not metal screws inside the holes? If so what a relief, i may sleep a bit better tonight.
yep. I've done about 100 of them. I was in your same boat the first time. They're really bad if you shoot the rifle for a while first and they melt in the threads. but yeah punch or small screw driver. they all punch clean through

If you use i tiny punch will they go out the inside of the receiver or will i need to pick them out? I bought the rifle (22-250) just for the action as i have a barrel and a GRS stock. I am going to send it to AO and have them put my 7.7 22cal. twist barrel on their chambered in the 22-250. If they had offered it in something other than a 14 twist i would have left it alone and shot the barrel out before having it rebarreled.

Just shake it and count em. All 4 usually fall out

I was able to get 3 of the 4 screws out easily. The fourth stripped and I used a screwdriver slightly smaller than the hole and just pushed and turned. I was able to bore a hole through the plastic plug and used the metal screw that came with my Talleys to push out the remaining material in the threads. Took about 5 minutes.

You might need to take a pin and chase the threads afterwards. Mine had some plastic stuck to them after I removed them. Once I picked out the remaining pieces the new screws went right in.

Oh SWEET BABY JESUS, i am going to go get and drink some good German beer tonight. Thanks guys for all your info, it was of great help. The beer will taste that much better tonight.
