Anyone have Winchester's phone #?

Luckily this little bugger didnt chamber or I could be typing this from the hospital...

Ive looked for 20 minutes and cannot find a customer service phone # or email for Winchester ammunition.

(It is a Factory loaded 45gn JHP 22-250 round)

Neck will split on firing. However, neck splitting is not going to put you in the hospital.

That's not a neck split, it's a manufacturing defect. I had 3 bags of Winchester 22-250 that had 3 or 4 cases that looked like that.

Winchester's QC can be freaked up at times.

You should see some sealed bags of 308 I got off a guy here. The shapes that this brass is in would blow your mind. First thought would be that they were run over by something, but the edges are radiused and rounded, so that's not it.

I keep them as trophies, although I should send them back in and demand another two bags.

Almost like the guy took the 'reject pile' and started filling retail bags.

Thats why Im trying to get ahold of them, Im in need of some brass...hopefully their CS is better than their QC.

When I talked to Kimber about a case failure I had, he said they get the most warranty claims from guys having failures from Winchester white box ammo. I guess Kimber covers the cost of repair then sends Winchester the bill, they always pay according to him.

FWIW when I was at a major arms vendor plant years ago I saw hundreds of cases with this and other defects. The defective rounds are segregated out, sold to the industry and function firing rounds and shot day in and day out with no problmes. They are packed in different looking boxes and sold at a big discount to recoup losses.

Thusly I have seen factory ammo like this, shot it and dumped it.

I have a copy of the NATO STANAG for 7.62 and you should see pics of ammo loaded on gov't lines and what to inspect for.

Then again they are a union shop and I read an announcement a few months back they are building a new plant in the South.

Considering the fact they are running three shifts a day seven days a week to keep up with orders for law 2 1/2 years, this little glitch doesn't bother me.

This ones not getting fired because it wont even chamber, if I were to chamber this round on purpose I would probably have a broken gun.
