    Like most folks in this country, I have a job. I work, they pay me. I pay my taxes and the government distributes my taxes as it sees fit. In order to get that paycheck in my case, I am required to pass a random urine test (with which I have no problem). What I do have a problem with is the distribution of my taxes to people who don't have to pass a urine test.

    So, here is my Question: Shouldn't one have to pass a urine test to get a welfare check because I have to pass one to earn it for them?
    Please understand, I have no problem with helping people get back on their feet. I do, on the other hand, have a problem with helping someone sitting on their ass - doing drugs, while I work. . . Can you imagine how much money each state would save if people had to pass a urine test to get a public assistance check?
    I guess we could title that program, 'Urine or You're Out'.

    We are randomly drug screened. I got hit 3 times in 6 months. I see it as quality control and don't mind.

    In fact I got both the morning after my birthday when we were put up at a hotel grand opening with open bar advertised by my company

    Absolutely, I'd be all for it.

    Same as I'd be for no one getting assistance if their kids had bad attendance and/or bad grades. If the parent isn't working the least they could do is make sure their kids went to school and/or did their homework. Maybe then their kids wouldn't be a drain on my kids tax dollars someday.

    Wasn't some state going to implement a program similar to what your saying. No pass drug test no collect assistance. I'd be 100% for it! Should go for Disability as well minus what they have prescribed for pain or whatnot. It burns my ass when someone who needs help can't get it but some low life who could work sits at home all day and smokes it up.

    I get random drug and alcohol testing where I work, DOT regulations for those of us in aviation.

    I also agree with people getting gov. assistance need to be tested also. They probably just sitting around smoking or shooting up all the assistance we give them. Not saying everybody is doing that, but you know some are.
    With that said, I'm all for the government staying out of our lives, they butt in too much as it is. But, its our money going to some folks who just want hand outs.

    +1 Strick's got it right. I get it random plus anytime a "client" request it before service. That's the way it is for me and 99% of the rest of the working world to get payed, so it should be for those on wf.

    That's a great idea. As truckers we have annual drug and alky test,then random drug tests too. Why not? I like where the bathroom are set up with a mirror a way way down so us pot- bellied truckers can see where the ding-dong is spraying!

    Yes that is a good idea,and yes i get to pee in a cup quite often.....I often wondered what if instead of bringing the sample cup out with urine in it i brought it out with a big turd hanging out of it.would they be upset,would they fire me.If anything i bet they wouldnt ask me to pee in a cup anymore......Hell a sample is a sample aint it....

    I'm not subject to random testing anymore because my job doesn't fall under hours of service law, but when I was a switchman I could be random tested. Now, if you are caught, they put you in a fricking rehab program where you can come back to work to be caught again. You'd be subject to regular testing and they have someone actually watch you pee in the cup to make sure your not cheating!

    I had to think about it for a bit Q, but its kinda like this:

    Carpenters are like the Army or Aif Force...giveem some shit and they try to negotiate.....

    Stonemasons one the other hand are more like Jarheads....strong and mean as shit from humpin all day in the sun, which dont require no degree in rocket science, and if you give them some shit they are more than likely to commit some senseless childish act of random (or well aimed) violence.

    My personal strategy for piss tests is always filling that cup to the brim. There's nothing like the look on their face when they see that steaming plastic cup ready to spill over. Never fails to make me laugh.

    If people couldn't pass a urine test for a welfare check then they would just get some other type of handout from the government because they are homeless. I agree with the testing but, then we might just a bunch of children on the street like a third world country.

    In the Army we have pee-pee watchers that actually have to watch us pee in the cup. One morning I really had to force it to make any piss come out. The pee-pee watcher ended up having to watch me drop a deuce in order to get my sample. Good times

    ...it is part of my job. i have to watch men pee in a cup. The reason being is some men/women cheat at UAs. I had a MD use a little bottle filled w/urine held underneath his hammer to fill the cup. He went to prison (not just for that test). He was a MD that was a Meth freak working w/children and families.

    Woman are even more sneaky. Some women put balloons w/a pressure value in their cochy. Sometimes woman officers have found balloons floating in the toilet.

    I know it is sick stuff, but it happens.

    I'm under DOT reg's and subject to randoms. (I actually don't mind, cause I usually end up gettin a couple hrs ot out of it!!!)

    I absolutely agree that if I gotta piss to work, then someone gotta piss to get a gubment check.

    BTW Big Bo WTF is a mouth swab? ^^^^^^ Sounds kinky....lol I heard of the hair thing.....

    i had to pass one to get hired, but i haven't gotten another in 2 yrs with the same company after 2 promotions.

    Was batted about here in Kalifornia but never implemented as it would stop half the recipients from receiving checks. Thus leaving no need for the thousands and thousands of government employees. Tyranny is larger than you or me

    I'm an aircraft mechanic and have to donate on demand. I don't mind and don't have a doubt about if I'm clean. I would love to require all all employers to have employees tested and especially require government assisted people follow the same rules before they get paid.

    Yeah me too, and I would post all incidences of viagra, SSRI's, synthetic hormones, valtrex, etc to all employees and our customers. Hell, I'd forward them along with letters of recommendation to future employers. I'd also take pictures of the ass imprints left in the chairs of fatties and circulate those as well.

    Seriously, intrude much? If someone is asking for free money and you want to illustrate them not wasting it is entirely in another universe compared to some "National Authorization to Become Employed Citizen" program. I'd be far more concerned as an employer about how committed potential secrataries were to their bosses' "wellbeing" than if Joe in the mailroom smokes a joint when he gets home, but I can't even inquire of such topics even though it may directly affect the performance of an exec under pressure.

    I worked for a state agency one that "randomly" tested it's employees. In over five years, I never got popped...but I did have a friend that the administration was gunning for and he got popped after every time he took vacation whether it was one day or a week...they tested him every time. On his first day back after every vacation, he could be spotted on his way to the medical facilities to take a piss. So much for random...

    Sounds like you have a great job, as do I. I have to pass an indepth background check which rates me to know things I can never tell people, discuss what I do for work, and even get into random conversations with friends and others as to what I really do for a mortgage raft.

    Part of that is that I am eligible for a random drug test at any time, and I do it. Why??? It is what I signed up for.
    I can go work at a car wash, or a cable company and watch porn all day, stoned and be happy, with NO drug test, but that is not me.

    Go with the program if you are not a dope head, and be happy you have a job, and leave the highly enlightened principles to people who teach.

    If you are not part of the problem, then being a stand up guy is just part of being part of the solution.

    Drink coffee and it will all come out. Science does not lie.

    Some yrs back my friend got word that a pee test for the entire bldg he worked in was going to come down that fri. so the next day he put some grass in with the coffee at work and everybody who drank it turned up + on the test, including all the top personal.
    no body got in trouble, they said it was a bad batch test strips.

    Yes. Sacred tax dollars should NOT go to anyone abusing drugs. "Unreasonable" is the key word for .gov "searches" like this, and we just gotta get a handle on how reasonable it is to demand that anyone who gets money for nothing.

    I also believe that EVERY time an employee is random drug tested, EVERY boss up the chain of command should be also scrutitized.

    As a lineman for an electric utility co with a commercial drivers license,I'm suject to random drug testing.I feel just as you do,but the system is so FUBAR that we will never see this.I work about 600hours of overtime a year, nights,weekends,and holidays.It burns me up to be at work after a night time storm,tired and wet,and see the welfare people sitting on their porches drinking.Think I'll have a beer, Pete
