I need to get in touch with him and I believe he lives in CA. He has no email address or location in his profile. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Frank

Thanks Jason. He posted an "I'll take it" on a rifle I have for sale and I havent heard from him since. As far as I can tell, it appears that he hasnt been on the hide since then either. I sent him a pm last Friday and he hasnt responded. I am just trying to get in touch with him to find out if he still wants it and I hope all is well with him.

That's the point of trying to get in touch with him, to give him the benefit of the doubt. He hasnt been on the hide since the day he said he would take it. Thanks for the sage advice.

    Frank,

If he committed to buy something by posting "I'll take it" and then failed utterly to provide you with ANY follow-up by PM, e-mail, etc., including but not limited to exchanging contact information, discussing payment terms, etc., and it has been nearly a week...I'd say you were well justified in considering voiding the so-called "sale" to him and relisting the item.

It is not your responsibility to drag the guy into following through or otherwise trying to track him down beyond what you have been trying to do (unsuccessfully as those attempts may have been). You have done what you can given the limited information available to you thanks to his failure to fill out his profile or offer up any reasonable means of contacting him to try to work out a deal other than by PM (which jasonk confirms he should be receiving e-mails of his PM messages). This falls on the alleged "buyer"...not on you. Give him the equivalent of a week from the time of his post saying "I'll take it" and then relist the item for sale. If he magically surfaces before its sold again and he can actually follow through...sell it to him. If not, then oh well...sucks for him (and maybe it will reinforce the lesson of proper follow-through on committments to buy).

    Good luck to you!
