I was really wanting a Rainier Arms 20" ultra match barrel, but they have no clue when the 20" barrels will be back in stock (just making 16 & 18 inch barrels now). What is another quality barrel maker out there? Only "spec" i want is either 1:11 or 1:11.25 twist in DPMS threading. I looked at noveske but all they make them in is armalite threading. Kreiger barrels have a WAIT time of 5-6 months(f that) and i havent found any new/very lightly used online. Lilja MIGHT have some in stock, but i emailed them so see what exactly they have for a drop in. Fulton Armory has their own house brand barrel but i havent heard on if their match barrels are THAT great or not. JP Enterprise is also a option cause they offer it as a kit (JPSM308-20M10K)

*side note, is there a difference between their M110 and reg barrel? I would like to start doing matches with this set up.

Overalll objective is accurate shooting between 300-500 yards but also to start going out further... maybe even 1000 yards if i can find a range here that goes that far, if not then 800 yards is my max.

EDIT: Lilja does have them in stock. so pretty much its down to LILJA and Fulton Armory (unless someone has a source for something else that is in stock).

Give Brux a call. You might have a wait but Brux should be able to make you something.

A buddy of mine just put his AR10 together with a Brux 1x11.25 Match chamber. We are still working on load development but so far it is shooting real nice with different types of ammo. The barrel was also coated and Cryo'd. Something else to think about. Stuff like this is not going to be stocked on many shelves, if any at all.

Fulton armory barrels are Criterion.. kind of a weird krieger stepchild actually.. and while I dont have one, I have read nothing but good reviews, espescially for the money..

Re: anyone know where to get a completed .308 match ba

I am leaning towards a FA. Will it be good (for now) out to 500 yards? *if i do my part as well as either match ammo or me making my own* also, should i get 1 of their bolts as well or does the headspacing not matter between them and say a JP bolt. also, if i plan to do matches, should i get the M110 version vs the regular heavy?

Re: anyone know where to get a completed .308 match ba

Where are people getting the Rock 5R barrels that GAP uses? is that a special deal with GAP? I cant seem sto find them anywhere, and If I cant get the 20" Rainier Ultra Match, I better start shopping around now.

Re: anyone know where to get a completed .308 match ba

Rainier said they dont expect the ultra matches (atleast the 20" version) to be back in stock for an easy 10-12 weeks. the 16 and 18" versions they have in stock or would be a week delay at most.

Re: anyone know where to get a completed .308 match ba

10-12 weeks is an easy wait.....especially if you have your heart set on it.

Ask around bro.....some of us wait over a year to have what we want. We waited because we didn't want to settle for something else. If my rifles only took 10-12 weeks, I'd have it made.

Re: anyone know where to get a completed .308 match ba

So is a JP enterprise barrel worth a 10-12 week wait over an available Fulton Armory Match barrel ?

or should i hold out for the Rainier Arms Ultra Match which has no offical ETA but was told an easy 5-6 months.

Overall objective, atleast for the "match quality" is being accuarte out to 500 yards, with me doing my part as well.

EDIT: i got my info wrong on here and swapped the info of the JP rifle for the RAINIER barrel

10 shot group shooting 175smk's at just over 100 yards with a 22" Fulton barrel on a 2" SnC. They're $300, in stock and very worth it.

You can't go wrong with either length barrel. I plan on getting a 20"er to keep as a spare and then picking up one of their 6.5 creedmore barrels and building a second upper.

Re: anyone know where to get a completed .308 match ba

I had a douglas XXX on my LR-308 and put 8200 rounds through it. It never shot over MOA with any ammo. I have a shilen on it now and will replace with a shilen or bartlien. I have over 20,000 rounds through this rifle, I've worn out trigger groups and all the usual things. I've never replaced the BCG FWIW. I can attest to DPMS accuracy and dependability and can tell you the stock barrel (douglas I Think)never went over MOA. I have gotten my best group with the shilen but would assume it's because I have put so many down range with the gun. I shoot this gun every week and would never part with it. I like 24" barrels becouse you gain a little velocity and you lose velocity with gas guns. If you plan on shooting 1000yds with it I would opt for a 24" because when you run hot loads through gas guns you can run into FTE problems.

I just had Mark Gordon, short Action Customs here on the Hide, build me a 20 in upper with Krieger 5r barrel. Havent shot it yet but it looks amazing. I believe he may have more in stock.

What are is the barrel profile of that M110 barrel?

What velocities are you seeing?

I'm getting approximately 2550 fps out of Federal Gold Medal 175gr (GM762M2) 7.62x51mm ammo. As for profile, you'd have to contact Krieger; I took that picture before the gun was assembled and I neglected to take measurements at the time. I can tell you that it takes a 0.875" gas block if that puts anything into perspective.

Here it is in finished form. Only change yet to be made is to swap the Vortex for a Surefire brake at some point in time.

Re: anyone know where to get a completed .308 match ba

well now that JP barrels are back in stock, i went and ordered (and gotta wait 6 weeks for the bolt) their 22" 1:11 twist match.. or supermatch.. or whatever they wanna call it. I wanted to go with FA cause they had themn in stock but i didnt want a 1:12 barrel and the only 1:10 was an 18". oh well, guess i get to save up for a scope till then.

I have the 24" 1/11 Lilja barrel on my JDMachine custom build.Only 110 rounds thru right now for break-in.......pretty impressive!!! This was built for the 800 to 1000 yard environment.
