Anyone put a Marvel Unit 1 on a Wilson Combat 1911?

Defunded!
I've got a late 2000s-early 2010s CQB in .45 and want to put a Marvel .22 conversion on it but have seen where some non-GI guns have magazine releases that hold the conversion mags too high in the frame. Has anyone had to switch out the mag release on a WC frame?
Thanks!

Does Wilson still make there conversion kit? I ask cause I have an at least 20 year old cqb and the Wilson 22 conversion. Everytime I’ve used it it’s worked great.

Believe Marvel made those for Wilson. Still offered by FCW (who bought out Marvel) as the Unit 2.

I have a Nelson Custom Guns .22LR conversion slide (it says "designed by Bob Marvel") on a Dan Wesson Specialist, and it works well, with no mods needed.

I do recall not having great luck with the conversion slide on my other 1911s, and that includes a WC... But its been a while and I don't have more helpful info

Thanks. Bob Marvel also helped design the Advantage Arms conversion.
I need to look at the Nelson again to see if there is a steel slide version. That's the main selling point of the FCW/Marvel Unit 1 for me at the moment. And no, still haven't bought one yet.

Do take a look at the Nelson ones; I just looked at the FCW/ Marvel and their "Unit 1" looks a lot like the Nelson slide I have. In addition to not sliding smoothly on my 1911s, it also didn't slide onto some of my STI/ Staccatos (which had been my preference). Nelson has .22LR double stack mags.

But as noted, it does work well on the DW and so stays there. With a Vortex Defender (which comes with a low pic rail mount), a suppressor, a Surefire X300 and a T. rex Arms Ragnarok SD holster (the optic and top rail interfered with other holsters, and the SD has an open top), its quite the fun "training" option.

I ran a Marvel 1, on my Wilson, without any issues. I actually mounted a scope and was impressed that there were several different flavors of ammunition that would group under an inch at 85 yards

No experience on Wilson frames. Have a Nelson on a Kimber Pro Carry (aluminum) frame running a suppressor with approximately 3k rounds and not a single equipment malfunction. The Nelson just works like it should
