Rifle Scopes Anyone run a 16x for their main optic? regrets?

How are the reticles in those Henny’s from EuroOptic? That’s about the only thing that’s kept me from pulling the trigger on one.

I tried my best to get some pics at first light this morning. Not easy trying to hold everything still! These are all taken at 125 yd.

I use to think I needed high power X scopes.

Then I spent a whole weekend behind a very accurate gun with a fixed 10x.

It rearranged my thinking on scope power as it relates to LR capability.

That Hensoldt is fantastic. I keep trying to think of what I could switch around to substantiate getting one.

The optic on my MRAD is only 20x on the top and I wouldn't need more as the mirage basically kills the idea of wanting a 25+ power top for me. I usually find myself around 15x.

CA can vary depending on your eyes. I don’t know why, maybe different refractive indices? My wife sees purple fringes through my Hensoldt where I see none.
BTW does anybody know what the reticle in the 4-16x56 LT (see Machtech's pic above) is called? I like it.

I spoke to Jason at EuroOptic about mine on Monday about the CA and another issue and he said none of it sounded right. Sent him pictures and just waiting to see what he hears back from Hensoldt on whether they're going to repair or replace it.

Edit: still no word from Hensoldt.

PFG, which scope was that? I've been thinking hard of returning to fixed 10x. Been quietly lamenting the discontinuing of the ST-10.

The 16x question really interests me. I'm in Utah and do most of my shooting with a 4-16 Schmidt or 3.5-15 nxs. I keep thinking I want more mag but I generally just shoot steel and mirage is always a problem here. I'm also left wondering if a 5-25 wouldn't just leave me with mag that I can't use for most all conditions I shoot in. Looks like so far the general tone here is that it is. One a side note, yeah that Hensoldt is tempting.

I used to have the F1 3.5-15. It wasn't long till I wanted to standardize most of my scopes with more magnification.

I went to S&B 5-25 for the higher end rifles and glad I did.
