I'm considering a set of Burris double-dovetail bases and rings for an upcoming build. It appears this combination will give me a lower total height than a Picatinny rail setup. I'm curious if anyone runs this combination. If so, can you tell me the height of just the dovetail base? I can't find that dimension anywhere.
The lowest height Picatinny base I can find is Seekins. The lowest 30mm rings are Seekins or TPS. Adding it up, I have the following;
Seekins 20 MOA base - 0.29"
Seekins/TPS 30mm low rings - 0.82"
<span style="font-weight: bold">Centerline height = 1.11"</span>
By comparison, it appears double-dovetail rings are lower, but what is the height of the base?
Burris DD base - ???
Burris 30mm DD ring - 0.77"
Centerline height = <span style="color: #CC0000">???</span>
