I am seriously considering a US Optics ST-10, and can't decide if the ERGO upgrade is really necessary. Anyone shooting a 10x with or without parallax adjustment, and how do you like it?

Also, how does the ST-10 compare with the SS 10x42 HD?

Re: AO for US Optics ST-10

You will want the ERGO option if you plan to shoot at both 100 yards and 300 yards or longer. It's more useful than an EREK.

Re: AO for US Optics ST-10

Given the choice, I'll always get AO. It simply makes an already very useful tool even more useful. It is always nice to be able to focus down to a very short range all the way out.

I simply can't see an arguement that would contradict that, other than the conservative opinion that less moving parts equals less possible failures.

I have no experience without an AO, and I can't compare it with a SS 10x42HD. I can tell you that I enjoy using the USO and have no complaints.

Re: AO for US Optics ST-10

I use my ST10 from 100-900 meters at the moment on my .308
I really feel life would be difficult without the adjustable objective ergo upgrade.
It,s got range incriments marked on the housing out to 500 then infinity.

You won't be dissapointed if you get it, you probably would if you didnt.
Hope this helps

Re: AO for US Optics ST-10

I would recommend getting it. I thought long and hard about getting the ERGO before I ordered my SN-3 1.8-10. I went with it because I hate spending that much money and waiting that long only to say damn I wish I would have gotten that ERGO. I have no regrets in my decision.
As far as comparing it to a Super Sniper whats the point. I am sure the SS is a good scope. LL gave a favorable review on it. If you get the SS you will have a fantastic quality (bargain variety)scope. If you get the USO you will have a premium scope that you can be proud of.

The SS 10X HD is hardly a "bargain variety" scope. Comparing it to the older SS is a mistake. Ive been rather impressed with the one I have. Cant say the same about the ST10s Ive had.

You're right its not a bargain. $800 puts it in a different class.

What issues have you had with the ST10s?

Re: AO for US Optics ST-10

The ERGO objective option is good to have in my opinion the side focus scopes can be a little touchy sometimes. I have an USO ST-10 on my 40x in .22lr, and with the Ergo I can shoot anywhere from 50 yds to 250 with it. I also have the ERGO objective on my SN-3 1.8-10x37 and I love that feature on it as well.

Re: AO for US Optics ST-10

Poor eye relief that caused mounting issues with the 44mmAO. Glass decent, but nothing to get giddy about.

The 37mm version I had was fine in the mounting dept, but same/same in other depts.

In fairness, neither one of them stayed in the stable long enough for any other meaningful evaluations.

No, SN-3 is the base scope for T-PAL.

I love my ST-10, and there is no comparison with the SWFA SS 10x42. I am getting ready to strip the paint off my PSS(Vamfyra) and the ST-10 back down to basic black. The ST-10 will go on the GAP/AI(Goblin), and I will put the TPS rings and SWFA SS on the PSS.
The USO ST-10 is so much more clear, it almost makes the SS look like a bargain basement Leupy...almost

Its not the price tag that puts in a different class...........

Actually we can make the ST-10 in a TPAL, just haven't had an order for one. I think we are bringing one to SHOT. For that matter you can have a 17X and 25X TPAL if you like, again, just have never had an order for one.

P.S. Lets see how long until someone asks for a price......I will have to figure that out real quick.

Re: AO for US Optics ST-10

I have the ST-10 without the AO. For the most part if the rest of your rifle fits you right so you have a consistent cheek weld I wouldn't bother with AO on anything under about 12X. Above that deffinatly put it on.
