Don't forget the Rayners Long Range Steel Plate match Saturday and Sunday. April 27-28, shooting starts at 9:00, safety meeting a bit before so try to be there by 8:30 at the latest to get signed up. Maximum caliber allowed is 338 lapua.

Will post results in this thread after the match. Targets are varying size steel plates worth varying point values based on how large (easy = low value) to really small (some will say nearly impossible = high value). You will need 36 rounds to shoot the match, three shots at each set of targets, there are six stations with two sets of targets at each one. You inform spotter/scorer which target you are going to engage with each shot so scores can be marked correctly. You can start with a larger target and move to smaller or go straight to the wee ones depending on how you wish to gamble with each of your shots.

A short clip showing most of the targets shot at his matches. Only the 775 yard target has been moved and is now 720 yards. Some stations have added smaller targets to choose from.

Maximum possible score is now 660 and the highest score shot has been a 390, this shows how challenging this match is. Scoped rifles, open sighted rifles and handguns can be used. Distances range from 234 yards out to 1000 yards. There are wooden benches and also plenty of room for the prone shooters.

You will shoot the lower half of the course first and rotate thru the stages, then a lunch break where you can go down to the shop and purchase from an assortment of food prepared by Carolyn and staff. After lunch we go up on the hill for the farther targets. Usually finish up in early afternoon.

The July match is coming up this weekend. I was there last weekend and seen some new shooting benches in the works, so there might be a third bench at each position this weekend..

I had a blast as usual Saturday, Bobby WinMag did an outstanding job running our squad. I heard through the grapevine that the magical 400 threshold has been crossed, and some other really good scores were shot Saturday.. Look forward to next month already.
