For my gun 168 SMK or Amax with 44g varget seated to 2.800" in winchester brass and WLR primers. Rifle is POF 308. Hard for me to complain about this load. Good groups, no signs excessive pressure, decent velocity (even though barrel is 14.5"). In next week or so gonna see what the 175 SMK does with Varget.
I fired a 3 shot group at 100 today to check zero (loaning it to a friend for a match over the weekend). It was right at 1/2 MOA. I fired two more groups at 200 and they averaged around 3/4 MOA. I was very pleased with this considering the breezy conditions.
I have two 155 SMK Palma loads I run in my 20" gas 308.
1. 46 gr Varget. - 2700 fps
2. 50 gr 2000MR - 2750 fps
Both uses LC match brass w/ CCI bench rest primers loaded to max mag length.
LC match cases, CCI BR2 primer, 43.5 grains of varget with 175 grain Sierra matchking...for some reason, my rifle likes the same charge with 168 match bullets.
Velocity is 2667 FPS out of my 24 inch barreled rifle W/ a 1-10 twist.
