Building my first AR10 and having issues with the length of the mag release catch bolt I believe it's called.It won't accommodate the wider frame of the AR10.I got a thicker button but still having issues with the distance it sticks out from the receiver. Was wondering about cutting down the length of the spring so the button doesn't bottom out on it.That would allow more threads in the button and less button protruding. Or will it weaken its intended purpose?

They make longer magazine releases, I don’t know if they are currently in stock but I remover kak making one.
It is DPMS style.So far KAK Industries is the only place I could find what I believe I need.An extended mag release/not button.It has a longer threaded reach than the standard AR15/AR10 release.But of course they are out of stock.Do you know anyone else that sells them.Seems everyone wants sell the extended button.That I believe is more of a bandaid.
P.S.The extended button is what I was trying to get to work.But I think the extended release is the only way to go.Any thoughts?
I’ve built 2 at 308’s both on dpms style lowers, on both I used 2a armament magazine releases without a problem, Who made the lower?
I’ve run into a few issues building 308’s, because nothing is milspec it’s just harder to find the parts that all work together sometimes. Kak is the only one I know of that makes the longer rod, the only other solution is the longer button, I’m afraid if you shorten the spring it wouldn’t be long before your mags just start falling out from the lack of tension.
