AR-15 ZERO QUESTIONS..(.223)

I have an AR-15 .223 with a trijicon ACOG on it. Wondering if I zero it it at 50 yards, will it be on at 100 yards? This is what I read somewhere and I know usually this is not the case but since it is a fast round, it doesnt move in that short distance. Anyone know if this is true????(or know anything about 50-100 yard zero)....

ballpark for AR's is if you are POA/POI at 50 yards you will be about 1 to 1.5" high at 100. You should get a second intersectionof line of sight at 200 yards or so.

I think you have to know what ACOG you have and what the lines inside the reticle mean.

You really need to know what the ballistics and fps of the round and rifle you are shooting, then you can plug them into a ballistic calculator to get rough numbers then go shoot to confirm.

FYI, I do not run ACOGS just aimpoints. I use a 50 yard zero.

First things first, what model ACOG do you have and what type of ammunition are you shooting? I used to use a TA31F on my AR15 using XM193 and if I was zeroed at 50 yards then targets from 100 yards to 300 yards generally only required holding the chevron on the target to get a hit.

I have a ta33-8 and using xm193. I zeroed it at 50 yrds and the bullet was about 1"-1 1/2" high at 100. (might be my aiming too) but not too far off of the dead center at 50yrds. What is typical....50 yard zero or 100 yrds? The manual for the acog says 100m zero is what they are built for to use the chevron B.D.C. I really dont go past 100 yrds with it so 100 yrds zero seems to be ok for me....thanks in advance,.
