Re: AR-30 custom stock
I already had this done to mine, round aluminum bar stock, turned to the same size as a A-2 tube, the screw hole drilled on the end, and the front where it attaches to the rear of the AR-30 cut the same as the original stock attachment.
The tube will be even with the rear of the AR-30 stock, but the A-2 stock or Magpul will have a drop down below the tube, where the AR-15 has the dropped area behind the trigger where the takedown pin spring is housed.
Where the bottom front of the A-2 stock dropped down, sharp and square (and useless on the AR-30), we arc cut it to be round and smooth behind your hand grip wrist area. This cut must be made to clear the back of your wrist.
This required modifying the A-2 stock itself and it was refinished to cover the arc cut.
Mine was done by Miracle Machine works in Selma Alabama, by Chris Self over a year ago. It was definitely not rocket science.
