Re: AR-30 customizations
The PRS is about 1.25" longer than the factory stock. And as I work with it, I do have to say that my cheek rides way forward on the PRS cheek piece and that with my scope ran back as far as possible. This setup is way less than ideal, but in comparison to the factory stock, it is better. Since I will still need to build up the cheek piece, I am tempted to buy a regular A2 stock and work with that to see which I like better. Since the PRS is already ran all the way in, I don't need the feature of adjustable LOP and with the cheek piece still too low and in need of a lift wort, I may choose to put it on my AR and work with an A2 stock. It's all still too early to tell, but with the adapter, I can now consider options.
The big challenge is, and always has been, the need to have the cheek piece as far forward as possible while still allowing room for the bolt to be removed. This is the bane of a long action in this platform.
