Hey i just wanted to post this project i just finished up.
Bought an AR-50 a few months ago and realized me being left handed does not work well with the type of cheek rest that comes with the gun. And as far as i could find i didnt see any aftermarket ones i could buy so off to home depot...
Used some brackets in the wood section that support wood frame joints so after some bending and welding this is what i came up with.
The metal was a little hard on the cheek so i used a black mouse pad and jb welded it to the frame after using some rustolem epoxy paint and an oven soak at 400F for an hour.
I used 2 bicycle seat quick release bolts for the mount
Then i saw... there was an aftermarket mono pod from APA for 159.00
Which was a little out of my price range since i was saving up for the nightforce scope.
So i used the same bracket from the cheek rest and quick release C clamp that i cut after some welds and paint job this is what i turned out with.
Its relatively stable given it was 10.00.
But just figured i would give anyone a heads up if they are left handed and thinking of not spending the extra money to buy a brand new lefty ar-50.
