Still confused! Because if this is so please explain how they were able to do what they did concerning our bump stocks?
There haven't been any successful prosecutions of that unconstitutional rule, and notice local or state governments were *asking* people to turn them in... consensual compliance out of the goodness of their heart of the owner of that pproperty, not forced compliance and confiscations.

With all due respect, the post you quoted is a bit off in my estimation. When laws change there is no guarantee that previous possessed items will be given "grandfather" status. It is very complex due to the second amendment but things can be made to be illegal. For example.
If we make the assumption that certain drugs were at some point banned, (schedule one for example) and possession was legal prior to the ban, you would not be able to possess "pre ban opioids" after the ban. They are simply illegal to possess. Firearms are a bit different due to second amendment but the principal is the same.

Drugs (except alcohol) aren't specifically protected by any constitutional amendment. Apples to oranges.
Also, if you're in possession of heroin at one point, then a law is passed proscribing possession, and you are in possession of that same lot of heroin, you're worst drug user I'd ever heard of.

I stated that. But have no doubt, certain firearms can be banned and not grandfathered. Example would be over 50 cal, etc. I have no idea what will happen but assuming you will be grandfathered in is not a sure thing. How you respond the the potential law is another question.
Correct, when the manufacture of an item is banned, then obviously it will be much more difficult to find one or to convince someone to part with theirs.
This is why I'm not speculating as to what may or may not happen. I'm just stating the premise of the types of laws that aren't allowed to he passed according to the Constitution. Now, congress can try and pass whatever, as they likely will try,, and the laws will challenged in assorted lawsuits, make their ways through the court systems, etc and see if the SCOTUS will actually do their job. Only time will tell and I'm not gonna worry about shit until laws are actually passed. Until then, I'm buying 80 percenters and getting to fickin' work.

do not be fooled its not just going to be the ar that they are going to ban its every gun that "can " or could hold a more than 10 round mag regardless if you own such mags , which is pretty much every gun made except revolvers that hold 6 shots , my mdt can hold a 12 round mag they may even have a 15 round mag I do not know , my 22 a 20 round mag all my ar's 50 round drum mags they are all on the list same with my m1a 20 round box semi auto ak with taped 30 round mags lol all my pistols its going to be a mess I am just glad they went down in that boating accident along with all those mags while they were conveniently vacuum packed so no leaks safe and sound at the bottom of that water way .

There are no facts to get correct because there's been no laws passed. End of story. With drugs, it is a different animal entirely. When they ban a drug, no you cannot be prosecuted for previous possession. Yes, if you do come into possession after law, that is unlawful.
You are stuck on this "let's talk about it in non-gun terms". That is a incorrect way to look at this because we are talking about guns, not apples, pine trees, R-134a refrigerant, or peyote.
Your logic might as well be equivalent to wanting to know about someone asking the legality of superchargers in certain states, but you only want to talk about tires.

Speculation is not senseless, it is a method to attempt to foresee what might come, to make preparations, to hedge, and not be blindsided. Anyone who bets on futures, preps for disaster, or slows down on a blind curve is speculating. It's not difficult to sense the general shape of what is coming for the 2A. Everybody here knows it. I am hesitant to jump into this thread but I think the Dems will try to pass a forever AWB and a magazine ban of anything over 10 rounds. They might even try to replicate CA's 'ammo has to be sent to an FFL' rule.
If they do any of this there are enough owners out there that it will be summarily ignored by most people. That said for some items it might make it harder to get... say if they crack down on Magpul then some guy will have to start making mags in his garage or whatever. That applies to those people not prepared already...it will be harder for new owners pretty much.
At the end of the day it won't be pretty. It will eventually fail but in between now and then expect a whole lot of trouble.
People are all scared now thinking all of this stuff now is about Trump, but they miscalculate. One way or another Trump was bound to leave office one day whether it's in 9 days or four years. The fight in my view doesn't revolve around him although I do think he was a superb president and this last election was a complete fraud.
That all said when it comes down to implementation of some kind of a ban it will be really hard to do and it will pretty much compel a lot of people to return to the 1920's and 30's business model.

ALL OF US will be labeled as terrorists and they will use the current set of laws about terrorism to come after people.
More than anything it will be splattered across the internet and the front page of every single newspaper in the world and "we" by and large will be powerless to stop it. It will be no more or no less than when the communist took over China where you had deeply indoctrinated people, even your own family turning on you because of the slime they will spew on the 24/7 news media.
You see it now. It's happening in front of your eyes. But at this moment it's aimed at a different target. Until it's not.

me too, so if I got this right I can possess pre ban heroin but I would have to forfeit the ducks but not until 2021?
