AR Scabbard for truck console

Does anyone have a good setup for the above. This is for private property only. Go easy on me! To avoid getting flamed, i thought I would preface by saying that this is legal here in Texas on private property.
I wanted a handy place for my AR up front for coyote dispatching purposes.

You could try one of these. I dont know if an AR will fit, but one of my buddy's had one of these and it worked great with bolt guns and Mini 14's. I usually just lay one between the passenger seat and the console or on the backseat, but its not really ideal.

So you place one half in between the seat and console leaving the other half free for the rifle? i like that idea-does it stay in place pretty well?

I never thought about using the overhead rack that way, but I guess you could. He had his mounted to the roof of the truck like it is intended to be used. It worked great and you could get a rifle down and out the window quickly. What I was referring to in the other post was just having the rifle slid in between the seat and console or laying on the backseat, not ideal but it works.
