Ar trigger options?

Timney Calvin Elite
Thats all you need to know.

I also noticed that Jard has triggers in all different weights but I can't find any info on them which I kinda take as a bad sign.

Triggertech supposedly had a Calvin Elite equivalent on the way but no solid info that I'm aware of.

I've been curious about the Jard triggers too. They are pretty well priced IMO. But I cant find much info either, have been leery of trying one. I like the simplicity of the straight shoe, non adjustable.
Do we have a volunteer guinea pig? I really don't want to find out firsthand why nobody is using a reasonably priced 1.5lb trigger...

I run a jard 1040 which is 1.5lb single stage. It is absolutely the best trigger I have tried. Super smooth and very crisp. I probably have 4000 rnds with it between the 3 uppers I use on that lower. Never once had any ignition issues and I use cci #41’s in reloads. Unfortunately they don’t make that trigger any more. I also have also tried jp triggers and had an ssa-e.

I have a jard from a 17 wsm build that wasn’t able to light off the rim fire rounds. I wish jard would have said something when I ordered that trigger with their upper, but I stuck it in another ar and it’s performed flawlessly with cci 450 primers. Mine is the non adjustable 4lb system part # 4165. For 100 bucks it’s decent but I would prefer something lighter. No creep, clean brake, and a fairly short reset.

I was looking at building a 17wsm ar but ended up going with 17 rem. How do you like the 17wsm?

I've been looking at getting a new trigger set up for a while. I picked up an MBT several weeks back. So I'm gonna give the Jard a whirl...

Just placed my order:

I went with the flat bow, adjustable. Goes down to 1.75lb, up to 4.25lb. I usually stay away from adjustable triggers, but I've only ever owned one, so I'm going Guinea Pig on this one. $160 shipped so I'll do a review of it once I get it.

First of April? Is it foolish to believe that such a trigger will be released then?

It does sound like it, but was announced a long while ago and was posted earlier this week.

Just seen that on their site. I wish it was a single stage though.

I have a G National Match that I'm fond of. I think the 2nd stage can get down to 8oz. I believe Elftman makes a match single stage that's adjustable down to around 1#

I saw the Mossberg JM Pro trigger on sale at Brownells for $99.99 and 10% off with free shipping yesterday. That's $90 total, right in Larue MBT territory. The MSRP is about $160, so a significant discount.

It's a single stage adjustable and the JM in JM Pro is Jerry Miculec.

It looks like it's similar in design to my SR Gold, the cartridge is a similar shape, very unlike the other budget AR drop in match triggers.

I didn't see a whole lot of reviews on the trigger but for the price, I'll give it a try.

I am almost certain that it won't be able to adjust down in to the 1.5 lb range but I seem to do ok with a 5lb or less single stage pull if it's short, smooth and crisp.

Well this evening I actually had something weird happen with my jard 4 lb non adjustable trigger I mentioned above. I was casually plinking steel with some slow fire and on one shot when I released the trigger to reset, the hammer dropped and a round fired.

I might give the guys at jard a shout and see what they have to say about it. At least my AD hit the steel but still calling it unsafe as of right now. I want my shit to function as it should, Anyone else have this happen? Being non andjustable I shouldn’t have been able to screw it up by taking it out of its limitations.

Timney Calvin Elite for me. Mine is 1.5 lbs. Don't know the weight but my backup is an AR Gold.

I tried hard to like the Geissele NM trigger, it feels spectacular, but every time the hammer dropped in an unstable position the muzzle would dip.

Jard triggers used to suck, but they've totally redone everything and I sent back an old 2 stage trigger for an FAL (I think they're only ones that make one) and it came back with a much newer looking one with a fine finish and it's adj. too. Don't know about AR's, the trigger in the FAL is similar though, same style.

For a low trigger pull like that and still have it be safe, and if you want a fine one you can't really beat a Geissele Hi-Speed. I have two of 'em, once they're adjusted they're peerless. They come with 3 spring weights and can be tuned even lower than you want. I have SSA-E's and pretty much one of every Geissele trigger and that one is in a league of it's own. Not cheap, but worth it if you want the best.

Just got this in an email today

Sending my jard back tomorrow to see if they can fix it. Really wanting to jump on this deal though

Finally got in today and just got my Jard trigger put in my 308. So far, I love it. It breaks perfectly clean, very little take up almost nonexistent. I'll get to the range this weekend and see how it feels shooting. But just dry firing, I like it. It's easy to adjust, it it set right at 2.5lb pull seems perfect.

How’s the reset and over travel? Which model did you get?

Over travel is pretty good, not the best in the world but I've got to tinker with adjusting that coming up.

Reset is smooth and much shorter than a conventional trigger. Maybe it just feels shorter, but definitely smoothest reset on any trigger I own. So far, i gotta say it was money well spent I'm happy with it. Here it is:
