Was wondering if anyone was running a 3lb Timney AR15 trigger in their AR10 6.5 and run into any reliability issues. As I understand it the additional mass of the AR10 triggers is just needed for military primers, so a 6.5 running factory ammon should not have a problem using an AR15 trigger? Timney only makes the AR10 trigger in 4lb pull and I would rather just use the 3 lb AR15 trigger if that will work ok with 6.5 factory ammo.

If it is any difference, I run a AR15 TT trigger in my Sig 716. Hasn't had an issue setting off anything I pull the trigger on. So haven't felt a need to pick up their AR10 trigger.
But you are correct, it's just for harder primers. Heavier spring and/or hammer for thicker primers.

I use the Timney AR-15 in my 6.5 CM AR with no issues. I’ve only shot reloads out of it though, so I can’t speak to reliability with factory ammo.
