Are there any good molds for .308 165 gr. bullets

Re: Are there any good molds for .308 165 gr. bullets

I've tried Lee molds only_(.357,.44,.308,.323)_ I'm quite happy with them_ lee don't rust_don't buy them second-hand,don't borrow them, and these molds will last forever_

I've had good luck with the lee molds as well. I know some people scoff at anything that doesn't cost top dollar, but you can get a mold that heats up quickly and start producing good bullets right away. Plus you can get multipule cavity molds which make production much faster.

I have had good results on paper and varmints with them as well.

Look up LBT (Lead Bullet Technologies). He makes great moulds to whatever weight/design you want. However, I'd recommend something heavier, such as the Lyman 311291 as Fuzzball says. It works well into the 1800-2000 fps range...it is REALLY difficult to get solid lead alloy bullets up to the jacketed range. JMHO

I would recommend visiting the Castboolits web site and doing some research. Some of the boys are casting 200 to 220 gr bullets and driving them out at 2000 fps or so from Garands. You can also learn how to paper wrap a bullet and drive it to full speed.

Good luck with casting, it can become an addiction in and of itself
