    I would equate my examples as equally worthless.

    An NFT is kinda, sorta, like a Marine’s rifle… “There are many like it, but this one is mine…”

    (Just for clarity, I am not nor have I ever been a member of any military branch. I’m just using the quote for illustrative purposes.)

    I don’t understand the value proposition- really- but NFTs are encoded to be digitally distinct. Two people may both have files that are ‘the same picture,’ but one file is not a copy of the other, and there is a digital transaction record within the file for traceability. The encoding makes them different, even if they outwardly appear the same. Again, kinda like the rifle with a serial number and a rack number and a chain of custody.

    Why does this make a NFT valuable? Why would one NFT be more valuable than another? Why would I want a NFT picture of a monkey when I could download the same image off the internet for free?

    I think @The D hit it on the head with money laundering. But, as Devin points out in the Legal Eagle video, they’re the opposite of untraceable.

    Being a fan of a sports club is akin to any hobby. If you want to take a austere view of anything outside of survival needs then have it. The difference between a football shirt and Trump is that no football club has preyed on fears and insecurities of the ill informed and vulnerable. If trumps NFT did indeed sell out I’d wager a disproportionate are those who have bought into his BS of being vested in bettering their lives. That’s a con in my books. Trump is not a conservative. He’s certainly not a Constitutionalist and therefore if I’m biased against him because of that then so should you be also.
