I have done the forms before to get other goodies. But I was wondering is there a rule about how long you have to send in the forms from the time that the CLEO signed them. For instance I will be getting my forms back signed this week, but I was thinking about waiting until early next year to send them in. My pictures will still be up to date.

Thanks for whoever has the answer to this.

Re: ATF FORMS: Technical Question

IIRC it's 1 year.

Form 4 instructions e. ...The certificate must be dated no more than one year prior to the date of receipt of the application.

I would not wait around. These guys are right that the wait for the BATF is bad enough. Don't prolong your own misery unless coming up with the funds for the stamp delay you a bit.

You're right. I saw this thread after having talked to my examiner about an unrelated issue, and one of the things she mentioned as she was reviewing my application over the phone was that the LEO signature was still valid as it was within the last year.

So, my understanding is that the form has to be approved within 12 mos of the signature... which leads to a number of other concerns. But it may just have to be submitted. I wish I read this thread first, I would have got a better answer for you.
