So I'm a career precision machinist. Any gun work/building that I have done has either been on 1. my own personal firearms or 2. friends and I did not worry about the technicalities.

But a guy I do not know has asked my to print & true his bolt action for a fair wage. I do not have any type of FFL. If I do the work does it make me ATF bait?

Re: ATF question

As long as he takes the rec with him every night, you should be OK. As soon as he leaves the reciever with you over night, it has to be logged into a record book because you just took possession of it. Make him bring it over and stay there while you work on it, when done for the night take it with him, and all will be OK.
