Does anyone have one of these can provide a review? I know Athlon's quality is sometimes hit or miss, but they have a lifetime warranty and pretty good prices. There are some sales for these for $199, and wondering if it's worth it. Or the Athlon Midas 1Mile for $300.

I know a lot of people recommend Sig Kilo 2000 @ $450. I think they also have a lifetime warranty?

I’m not sure if the Vortex rangefinders are good or not, but the manual does state their standard VIP Lifetime warranty applies with no stated exclusions.

The Sig manual shows a 5 year warranty on electronic components.

In my opinion, Athlon hasn’t been around long enough (2014) for their warranty to mean much. I know many people said this about Vortex when they first his the scene, but I think 15 years in business is enough to give me some faith in their ability to stay in business and honor their warranty if needed.

Looking at the 2200 manual it looks like it's now categorized as electro optics which is unconditional lifetime. If that's correct seems really great for a quality item for 450 and unconditional lifetime.

I think their electro optics warranty applies to the glass, not the electronics. The next section down in the 2000 manual:

SIG SAUER Electronic & Tritium Component Limited 5-Year Warranty
For components not included under the SIG SAUER® Infinite GuaranteeTM, this warranty covers any defects in materials and workmanship in the electronic and Tritium components of illuminated riflescopes/sights, pistol sights, electronic sights, flashlights, lasers, binoculars, spotting scopes, and rangefinders. This warranty lasts for five years from the date of manufacture. If, during that five-year period, these products are found
to have electronic or Tritium component defects in materials or workmanship, SIG SAUER will repair your product, at no charge to you. If we cannot repair your product, we will replace it with a product in perfect working order of equal or better physical condition.

Thanks I emailed them just to verify. 5 years isn't that bad. I don't plan on using the LRF much as I don't go out and shoot at long distances very often, but thought it'd be handy. But using something maybe once every month or two, I want to make sure it lasts as I don't use it that frequently.

If you are bound by budget, look into sig.

If not, leica or Vectronix. You absolutely get what you pay for in lasers. Long story short, you may have reticle alignment issues, or the return on beam maybe metered to “appear” smaller, etc etc.

Thanks for the replies and suggestions. Spoke with SIG today, and their rangefinders, the lenses are guaranteed unconditional lifetime warranty. Their electronics are only gauranteed for 5 years. But somehow my electronics seem to die, exactly when my lens cracks, so I guess it works out...

I'll be going with the Sig Kilo 2200 MR for ~ $400 ish.

    Thanks everyone!
