Looking for a new scope to put on a .308 savage bench gun i built.

I'm normally shooting at 16x power, using these targets for 1oo yards http://accurateshooter.net/targets/targetaccshooter.pdf

Not sure if the Athlon Midas Tac center dot will be too big for that target at that magnification at let's say 100 yards?

From what i read the reticle is on the thinner side, which is good, but before i shell out the momey i wouldn't mind getting some input first.

Or perhaps there are better scopes for my intended use in that price range?

thanks for your input :)

I have the 24x and use the same targets for load development. The dot isn't too large.

My Tac usually stays on my 22 bolt gun, but I put it on the AR the other day to get more magnification than the 10x SWFA that I normally use on it. I was working up some loads and the extra magnification helped with shooting groups. At 16x, the dot is smaller than the red diamond on your targets.
