Atlas Bipod.

Re: Atlas Bipod.

I only have 1 stud in my McM's

I think I can probably fabricate a QD rail attachment for the stud to attach a pic rail now that I give it some thought

Re: Atlas Bipod.

I'll be honest, its not that hard to do. I did it on a McM that only had one stud. Buy the 5 dollar kit, the 20 dollar rail (both available from Triad) and put a second stud in yourself.

If you get sick of the Atlas, not likely but plausible, take off the rail and sell me the Atlas.

Probably all of 10 minutes to put that together. And in the end, if you don't like it, you end up with two front studs.

Here is a link on how to DIY:

Re: Atlas Bipod.

bevan - as brand692 says, it is a simple job and IMHO it is worth doing so that you can use the Atlas (they really are that good!)

Here's a pic of mine - it is a 3" rail from Kasey and the guys at GAP managed to pur a flush cup where the original stud screw went:

Re: Atlas Bipod.

I think I'm going to get out the welder and grinder and try make up a QD mount... I often shoot offhand or off a backpack without the bipod attached and a rail would hinder this... also make sling attachment difficult.

Re: Atlas Bipod.

Well, with Kasey's rail, you can use a stud as one of the screws. So you would still be able to attach a sling to the stud, have your rail and Atlas, and be GTG. ETA: You may even be able to do it with both, I don't know. I just tried it with one.

Can't help you with the off hand shooting or off a backpack issue.

I will be interested to see how you make it work if you customize your Atlas.

Re: Atlas Bipod.

+1 on this

See my pic above...you can see the flush cup is used as the rear screw for the rail and the sling is attached to that.

I did that for exactly the same reasons you mention.

I did get a post from another Hide member detailing how to do it...I'll see if I can find it and either post here or PM you.

I don't have the PM with the vid any more....but I'm sure HDC-Deadly would send it to you if you asked.
