Seriously? Not be upsetting or anything, but haven't a great majority of your sales come from civvies? So majority of production efforts are going to be aimed at filling govt. orders first?

Re: Atlas Bipods

I'm pretty happy knowing that someone who may be putting their life on the line in defense this country (AND me) is at the head of the line. When I ordered the pair I have late last summer, it took about 14 weeks, for the same reason. I had no problem with that. JMO.

Re: Atlas Bipods

Yeah of all the reasons a company might not get stuff out the door on time/quickly, the fact they are giving orders for soldiers priority isn't one that would even remotely upset me.

Re: Atlas Bipods

Thanks guys!

TRG prototype is in the works and will accommodate any BT10, BT10-NC or BT10-LW, so you should be in good shape right?

netranger6, the last contract is what pushed us to the 6-10 timeframe, we have had several contracts (in fact 2 for more units) prior to this. And as stated on our website we will always give LEO and Military a discount and priority shipping. I don't even know what the drop date is on this last contract, but wanted to at least give customers and future customers a realistic time frame.

You will just have to take my word that we are doing a ton to get these time frames reduced.

LoneWolfUSMC, I know you are USMC and all and I love you for that, but does that mean the USMC makes sole claim to the term "Uncle Sams Mis-Guided Children"?

To be clear, I will neither confirm nor deny what branch, this contract was for.

Same, until I think about the fact that the other 99.95% is going for Schlitz, Kools and Spinning rims.

Pretty much. I don't know that any other branch will answer up to that moniker.

Re: Atlas Bipods

It makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside to know that the troops are getting the BEST bipod out there! Fill those government orders, when I need another Atlas, I will be more than willing to wait for it.

LOL. I got a last minute quote request on a number of products about two weeks ago(including Atlas). The company was not very vague about who they were shopping for:

Re: Atlas Bipods

Thanks guys.

Okay so I've been told again that indeed "Uncle Sams Mis-Guided Children" applies to the USMC ONLY. I got it, I won't do it again.

alshirey, I wish it were that easy!

Hey Steve, cool! Good to know there's more business out there!

Re: Atlas Bipods

Netranger, while I can understand your frustration at the delay, the basics of supply and demand apply to even small bulk purchases. I'll throw a cool hundred on the table to say if you asked Kasey for 400 brand new Atlas units, that he'd bump you to the front of the line. Government or civilian sales notwithstanding, bulk jobs grab attention.

But Kasey is a huge supporter of our fighting men, so I've got no issue with him prioritizing sales to the *.mil crowd.

Re: Atlas Bipods

winmagfrog, I believe I may have been misunderstood. I understand Kasey's patriotism better than most, and my statement was not meant to infer that Kasey would put the almighty dollar above all else; rather, the wager was meant to give an example that in business, bulk sales garner more attention than single sales. Sales of multiple units can encourage the business owner to bump single sales to a secondary level in favor of the larger sale -- this is because people who buy in bulk generally do not purchase for their own use, but for resale. And when that order is resold, there will be another bulk purchase.

Kasey's will and determination to produce a superior product has not been lost on me; I own several of his products and appreciate the fine craftsmanship. Patriotism and love of country come first; but savvy business practices still work.

Re: Atlas Bipods

Thank you winmagfrog I appreciate that and coming from you, means a lot to me.

Money talks, but service comes first.

Just so you know, we have had and do have orders for over 100 bipod units that are waiting 6-8 weeks.

This is not a point of pride but rather a fact and one that challenges me. We have increased production in both quantity and frequency 4 times in the last 8-10 months. I believe we are getting a handle on part flow but will be several weeks before we see the results and several more before we start moving that delivery time line back to the desired 1-2 weeks or better. But, I have had those thoughts before, and we went from 2-4 to 4-6 weeks!

Which brings me to this, which I've said this before but due to some emails and calls we are getting, I'll say it again.

We will honor ALL civilian sales that we have on file in the event we change our policy regarding civilian sales. What this means is that if for ANY reason we suspend civilian sales, that will ONLY apply to NEW SALES. We would still satisfy all current civilian orders we have on file and continue to supply our dealers that have current monthly requirements. IF this change should happen, we will use all means to our disposal to notify the public. (and maybe give SH members 72 hours...)

Again, thanks to one and all, it is a blessing to chase the American dream and to have customers such as we do here.

Re: Atlas Bipods

hink, lol, we must have been typing at the same time!

I appreciate you and you will simply have to trust me that I will never garner any awards from the business world for my business model. In fact I have had several people I fully respect tell me that my way of doing business is not the way to do business! I just keep showing up just the same.

Bulk civilian orders, placed today, 6-10 weeks. Sorry.

Re: Atlas Bipods

Tell you what I'll do...I have two of the Atlas V8s. One is the QD rail mount, the other is the direct (bolt-on) rail mount. If anyone here is just dying to use their new Atlas and simply can't bear to wait until it arrives, I'll send you one of mine until your order is shipped, you choose which type. This is open to anyone here at the Hide. All I ask is that you show me proof that you have in fact ordered one from Kasey, and of course, send mine back whenever your comes in (LOL). Just send me a PM.

^ Awesome

I sold my never been shot V8 on here right before I deployed. I figured it did no good just packed up in a box. Might as well as help some hide members

Re: Atlas Bipods

Kasey,

It seems that you're set in your ways....and your business model does not match at all what I've been taught and witnessed. But it is awesome.
smile.gif
I think that if your business model is working for you and there's no reason to change, then don't. Your product speaks for itself -- your customer service brings your company to a whole other level.

Re: Atlas Bipods

You guys are rock stars!

hink, I've had no business school schoolin' so how would you know! Your offer is over the top, and not necessary from my chair but I'll not stand in the way.

You forgot one other little thing...Kasey personally responding via PM and by telephone to problem's created by the user and not his product.

However, I feel inspired by gstaylorg's generosity... If any of you are "just dying" to have an Atlas V8 and simply cannot wait another second I'll sell mine for $250..HAHAHAHAHAHAA! I know, I know, you're thinking....Man that HSM is one hell of a guy. LMFAO!

Re: Atlas Bipods

I thought that they were going to have a long backorder so I placed an order through accu-shot for a no BT10-NC and a BT19 thinking that I would have to wait quite a while for them. But to my surprise, I recieved an email yesterday saying that it has been shipped.

How long was your wait?

Re: Atlas Bipods

Thanks guys!

hink is good people. He was simply basing his opinion on standard business practices which I, in this business, with vendors, have been a victim of so I refuse to practice it.

cluebat, based on the "Minot, ND" I'm guessing Tuesday, going to a service member.

And for for clarity, we started having a part made in a different manner, so that cost us 2 weeks, add the contract orders and we lost ground...

Also, we are out of cleats, expect them in the next 72 hours, and then we'll have a bunch of those orders (bipods/cleats) going out.

We have hired another person, have a ton of parts here and being made and working Saturdays (except the Tulsa gun show Saturday). We are working towards cutting the wait time.

Re: Atlas Bipods

Kasey, your words, while unnecessary, are very welcome.

To all who have read this entire thread, you know that I put 'a cool hundred' on the table regarding Kasey's business practices regarding bulk sales. Well, I lost, but I couldn't be more glad to be wrong. I was serious about the hundred, so here it is - toward an Atlas for one lucky active duty servicemember.
Atlas Bipod discount raffle

Re: Atlas Bipods

FWIW - I have a taker on my offer of the V8 loaner and will be sending it out tomorrow. I am also very happy to see hink's generous offer (bipod raffle) for a deserving active duty service member and I urge people to get in on it. That kind of thing is one of the reasons I really appreciate the good folks here at the Hide!

1 day from when i ordered. I know Kasey said that military has priority but I didnt realize it would ship the next day. I dont even get back to the states till april!

Much thanks for the support Kasey!

Re: Atlas Bipods

Kasey, do you have any updates regarding your backlog status? When I ordered the backlog was 6-8 weeks, and I understand there have been some setbacks since then and the wait changed to 6-10 weeks. Sunday marks day 77 for me, so I figured I'd bug you here rather than via email in case others are in the same boat as me.
