Avenal tactical match (central CA)

Avenal Gun Club in central CA has a field match with a hiked course between stations where participants engage 50 steel targets. Restricted to field gear and 50 rounds of ammunition with 1 minute per target. Course map includes ranges to targets.

Looks like a lot of fun, has anyone done this? I'm going to try to make the May 20th date as my first field match.

It's a fun match! Wish I could make that one, but I'll mostly likely be out of town for work...

Haven't done it, but I'm interested in checking it out. I'll be down at Coalinga next weekend for the Wind clinic if anyone else is going to be there.

I'll be there at the wind clinic! After the man handling I received in shifty, light winds on Sunday at the Lone Survivor match this past weekend, I'm looking forward to getting some dedicated wind training!

Awesome club to shoot with! The facility has all steel targets and 2 courses of fire: prone and obstacles. Everyone is very helpful and perfect for new shooters. Bring your hiking boots and maybe work on some cardio there is some hiking involved.
