I just finished my second Duracoat project and am pumped with how great the results of my work were. I painted a GAP 2-color camo on my HS Precision stock for my Remington 700 .223. I used Lauer's "tactical" colors and chose coyote tan and OD green. I ordered the reusable vinyl stencils from Bulldog Arms, they were great quality and are definitely reusable and were less than $20. All in all, Duracoating is as easy to do as they say, I was intimidated at first of course, but it really is quite simple. I'm using a Paasche double action mini brush and a small 1/10 horsepower compressor, nothing too fancy. The prep work is time consuming but Lauer's directions are very good. The Ruger was my first attempt and it turned out great. Here are the pics, including my 10/22 that came out great with the coyote tan and black barrel flutes:

Im stuck now deciding what to do with the Remington's barrel, receiver, trigger guard assembly, cheek piece, bipod, scope and rings/base. My goal is to have a clean look when all coating is completed. I am about to install a Badger knob on the bolt and no matter what I do, I am going to leave the bolt jeweling on the bolt body. My thoughts are:
1. Do a matte black coating to even everything out as the finishes are different between scope, barrel, bipod etc.
2. Continue the camo job and do the entire rifle, scope, bipod, etc. I like this idea, but I don't know if it would be a bit too busy or over the top. And it would take forever with the prep work, but may be worth it.
3. Incorporate another color similar to the OD green or tan to do some or all of the other parts of the rifle
What are your thoughts/suggestions/ideas. Please let me know because I'm torn! Thanks for the advice as always.
